When I gave my son a car I realized how great it was to not have to get dressed just to drive him. Then it started with having him pick up a few small things here and there. Ever since I gave him a copy of my credit card I just don’t leave the house anymore. On a positive note he will be leaving for college in two years. Nope, nothing positive about that. Wow! This spiraled out of control quickly.

This is way too accurate to be funny. I once opened the door with laptop in sight of the door with some random charts open, so the delivery guy thinks I was working from home. Hell I have a crutch standing next to the door so I can pretend I have issues walking so they think I can't possibly go shopping right now. I think it is normal to value the opinion of people who bring us food, just from an evolutionary standpoint.

I feel attacked. Who said you could post my inner thoughts? I will be in gross pajamas. When I hit submit order online because fuck calling. I through on something on from the floor, sometimes it's a jacket in 90 something degree weather, brush my hair like a crazy person, clean the area the delivery person can see from the door, make sure a lot of shoes are out and music is playing so i'm having a party and this large pizza and 2 sides aren't for just me and depression. Don't even get me started about if I have roommates and order something. Anxiety sucks

It starts to be a really fun game when you order stuff online and a few days later, when you have successfully repressed all memories of recklessly spending all your hard earned money dollars on useless crap, the delivery person is at your door but there is too much anxiety so you just hide in the bathroom and watch them drive off again. Totally defeats the purpose of ordering anything online. But its happens to me way too often

The roommate judgement anxiety on top of the delivery person anxiety is the worst! I always feel like I have to plan out my food order delivery before my roommates get home cause they will KNOW your about to go in your room and eat that entire order yourself cause they also know you don’t have friends to share it with.

General PSA: However you look when you have Uber Eats, etc. delivered- PLEASE tip your driver. None of what you paid for the food goes to them. UE just changed their rates, so they are likely making $2-3/delivery now. I drove for them most of this summer.

Yes, we all do this. I deal with a lot of my own home repairs so I don't have to let people in/clean/de-nasty the place and me. Standard home-worker probs. I've thought of starting a club to get home work people out a least once a week. Simple sports. Hikes. Etc... I am working hard not to get into the delivery thing too much--force myself to get out even when I don't want to. Pizza and Chinese max. NO groceries.

eh, you don't need cilantro for guac. For each avacado, 1 roma tomato scraped out the gooey stuff and chop, two cloves of garlic minced, 1/6 of a large red onion finely chopped, mix it all together and season with garlic powder and kosher salt to taste, and then add the a tablespoon of lime juice to brighten up the flavors.

What's sad is that my rural ass town doesn't have postmates or uber eats or just plain uber. So delivery options are limited and the delivery people start to recognize your address from the order and then they know your name and where you work because I can't be bothered to leave the office unless it's actually time to go home because going home on lunch is just full of false hope...

As someone who shops and delivers groceries to people who order online, we don't give a shit. The only time we care, is when the customer is being an asshole about the delivery being 5 minutes late, or the fact that they dropped something on their carpet from the order they made last week and want us to refund them for it.
