I recommend that next time you visit MSM go to Genet and view the sunset . No crowds and the view is the best. It is 5kms away so if its raining you may not see anything.

Lol such a great vlog. (love the bloopers). Next time try Sy Malo. It will blow your mind, the history, the ambience, the food, the sea, the beaches, just superb. loads of hotels and b&b's to choose from. Have had many holidays in or near St Malo, it is a bit nearer from the UK where I am, but its well worth a weeks holiday.

My only trip to Europe had us arriving in Paris on July 13. Of course, July 14 is Bastille day, and that was truly impressive with the huge military parade, the fly overs, and of course, the amazing fireworks from the Eifel Tower. Then on to Brugge, Belgium. Found myself standing in front of the only statue by Michael Angelo that is NOT in Italy. (holy mackerel, that guy knew his way around a piece of marble.). Beautiful city. Then on to Gent to find we arrived just in the middle of the Gent Jazz festival. Way cool, super fun. Rounded out the trip at Bastone. Lovely little town, the people were fantastic and the tour of the military base and tank museum was top notch. St Michel is on the "hit list" for our next trip! Thanks for the great video!

I loved your video...thank you for making it! Please confirm for me as I have found conflicting info online... You mentioned a walkway built a few years ago allowing people to walk from the shuttle to the island. Some info I find online says you cannot get on MSM during high tide. Or is it just the bay that is not accessible? Please help...going in April and I'd like to make sure I don't get stuck waiting for low tide to come. Every moment counts :)
@TheAwkwardTourists Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! The Road /Walkway that they built a few years ago made it so you can access the island at any tide level. (before this, you had to worry about the tide coming in, but no longer) The only way you would get stuck with the tide now, Is if you ventured out into the sand surrounding the island and it came in, keeping you from returning to the island and the road back

Trying to set up a plan for a Honeymoon Trip to France and want to venture out of Paris. Was thinking to take an early train from Paris to Caen or maybe Bayeux, rent a car and check into a hotel. From there head out to see the Normandy beaches and Mont Saint-Michel and head back to hotel.It may have been to early to have check in earlier, so we would check in at this point. Hoping to do this in a day based on time we will have. The next day, we would head back to Paris. Does this sound like a good plan or underestimating anything here? Any advice would be appreciated based on your experience.
@TheAwkwardTourists Жыл бұрын
You could do technically do it in a day, but it would be a LONG DAY. Mont Saint Michel is 1.5 hours from Bayeux, so right there you have 3 hours of driving and you'll want at least a couple hours to explore. As for The Normandy Beaches, it really depends on how much you want to see. We spent 2.5 days exploring the ww2 sites and still didn't see everything. I think it could be done though, If you just chose one like Utah beach and then went to Mont St. Michel. In my opinon though, two days would be better. Or maybe go to mont saint michelle the first day, and then check out of your hotel on the second day and go see the normandy beaches, then catch a late train back to Paris. Hope this helps! Let us know if you have more questions.
