You two made me laugh! Hahaha😊 And that was good! Wow! you island stay there looks really nice. And yes, I would need a lot of bug spray!!! Definitely!! But other than that, the food looks nice there at that "Happy Hour" play. Also, yes, I know what it is like to fly on "Stand By". Yes, I am former Purser Flight Attendant from United.

We have been to Koh Lipe twice, but went mainly for the scuba diving. It is an awesome destination. If you want to avoid the stress of making the trip in one day, you can stay overnight in the Bara Bara hotel in Pak Bara.

Yes i love Koh Lipe , it so simple and the water is so clear . We flew in to Langkawi and from there we check in @ the Telega Harbour which is about 20mins ride from the airport. Yes the mosquitoes are very busy on humans. Bring your umbrellas we were there five days and it only rain on one of the evening .

I completely agree! Koh Lipe is a hidden gem with its simplicity and crystal-clear water. Sounds like you had a great time exploring the island!

I taught English in HatYai for a little while!! I never made it over to Koh Lipe in my time there, but now I know to avoid the speed boat to the islands haha

I remember taking a speed boat from Old Phuket Town to Koh Phi Phi and it was THE most horrible experience ever when I traveled to Asia! The seas were very rough just like what you experienced. I took anti-nausea pills as well, but I was still a puking mess. And I mean a whole lotta mess. I got to the island very weak and drained of energy. I slept a good 4-5 hours after I arrived at my hotel. Tip to travelers: Do NOT take the speed boat, unless absolutely necessary or you know your body well enough to do well on rough seas for 1.5 hours. I'd very much rather take the slow boat and be comfortable than take the speed boat. Never again! Glad you made it to the island okay and safe!

It was the only option at the time. I guess they just stopped running the ferry for the season. Man it was rough though...

I just watched for the Drama 😁 Okay a couple of Tips I can throw in here; Air Asia is KNOWN for being LATE more than they are on-time. So if you are Planning Connecting Transportation that Involves an Air Asia Flight, you are basically wasting your Money. Also the Boat Trip you guys Booked, there is another Boat that goes Direct to Koh Lipe so you don't have to pay for the National Park Fees. (This Video is Full of Drama! 😁) Another Tip I Live in the same Weather area as Thailand, You DON'T want to be on the Open Ocean during November and December! That's when all the Boats SINK! I'm glad you guys didn't Sink. 😁

Guys! we are doing pretty much the same trip on the last week of Sept. (low season) So I have few questions: how long did it take to get to Pak Bara pier? How did you get that car (suttle, taxi, uber... whatever)? When (date) did you get to Koh Lipe? Thanks for now
@TheAwkwardTourists Жыл бұрын
Two hours from Hat Yai airport to Pak Bara Pier, you can take a taxi and book it when you land (I think It was 1800 baht) or you can arrange transport ahead of time. That's what we did, but when our plan was delayed everything was messed up and it ended up costing us more

What was the airport you flow to from Bangkok/ is this the best way to get to ko lipe ? Thanks
@TheAwkwardTourists Жыл бұрын
We flew from DMK airport in Bangkok to Hat Yai. If you're coming from Bangkok, that's the best airport to fly into. Then it's a mini bus ride and a ferry or speedboat

Question, are the speedboats luggage friendly? My family is planning to go on a long trip and Koh Lipe is our last destination and we’re planning to bring 1 luggage per person do you think it’ll work?
@fahiruzrazali Жыл бұрын
The speedboat has storage compartment for luggages however Koh Lipe is mostly without paved pathways, so you may end up dragging your luggages on the sand..unless you rent a taxi motorbike. Would recommend backpacks instead.
