Thank you so much! A big storm is coming and had the shade down for the summer, but it wouldn't go up! We have a Cedar Creek trailer, and the awning had 2 screws we had to take out. We didn't have the strap, plus the awning wasn't all the way down and we wouldn't have be able to slide it in, so we just used a broom and stick to push on both sides. It took a few good pushes, but it finally rolled all the way in. 😂

Finally, someone shows how this is done. An extended & inop awning has been a fear of mine. My RV dealer, as well as the RV manufacturer gave me very vague answers how to get it rolled back up. Pretty sure they didn't really know. I did not get a strap & dowel or a cord with a plug. But both look easy to make. Many thanks for the video.

Augusta RV, your Luxe 5th wheels are incredible and just the type of trailer my wife and I will be looking at as we set to retire from the military in two years. However, there is one aspect of your trailers in which I am really torn over--the awning. Have you looked into Lateral Arm Awnings, like the one's they are installing on the Lance Travel Trailers? I'm not saying this is a deal breaker for us but I would really like to see either lateral or hide-away awnings like the one's installed on ultra high-end RVs. Please let me know; I am excited about your brand!

Does this procedure work on the power awnings I have on my Cedar Creek 34E 5th Wheel? Can you buy the awning strap and power cord jumper somewhere? I haven't seen one in my 5er.

Our RV didn’t come with that 8-foot power cord & plug for emergency retraction of our awning. Anyone know the part number or where we can buy one? It’d be good to have “just in case”.

Thanks for this great video... It's nice to know I'll be able to close my awning should the motor fail, of some other problem come up. Now I have a question... I'm needing to replace my A&E power awnings fabric. I'm sure that I can do it, But I need some information if you can provide it? I'd like to know if the arms on my a&e power awning are spring loaded in any way? Are there springs inside of the awning tube ? My main concern is, How do the arms react when you remove the awning tube ? If you can give me any advice or tips, I'd be very thankful.... Thanks again.

+Augusta RV Thanks for the reply.. I did contact Dometic, and they sent me the manual that I needed. It explains and shows everything in detail. My Dometic A & E Awning 9100 works just like yours, the only different thing I see between the two is, The cap on the end of the electric motor. Anyway, I do thank you for taking the time to reply....
