Pius Suter has missed 3 total games in his Red Wings career , THREE! Have to appreciate a player that is mostly a bottom six if not for injuries, maybe he gets moved with his recent goal performance, but he does so much more for this team as well. If he gets moved or not got to remember this player, reliable, hardworking, INVINCIBLE! again 3 missed games that's impressive.

I was there! There's always lots of wings fans at the games in DC, it's great! Although I was up in the 400's you could hear all the wings fans around. Even had a couple great LGRW chants throughout the game!

We've seen that happen to our teams in the recent past, most notably the 2010 Tigers in August when Cabrera was on the IL... and they ended up getting no-hit by Matt Garza. Another example is the 1993/1994 Chicago Bulls, not only comparing Ovechkin to Jordan, but Backstrom to Pippen, and you've got to admit that's a good comparison.

This team is finally healthy and playing well! Guys stepping up and playing for one another, vrana might not get a point in his return but it was great to see him on the ice again, loved the effort he showed especially when he got back on D to stop the 2 on 1 early in the 3rd

@@markwilson1096 accidental or not, he hit him right in the chin and neck region, fortunatly it wasn't bad for Oshie, but it could had been. im a wings fan and the misconduct was ok to me. in my opinion, you always have to proceed the same way with cross checking or high sticking, regardless of whether you hurt someone not at all, slightly or seriously. he knew immediately what was happening and all his body language indicated that something had gone wrong with him in the heat of the moment, because the movement with the stick was clearly one-way to the chin.

How many in the Red Wings roster have ever tasted playoff hockey? Not many! So if they get to the playoff, and even if they only play 4 games it would be an important experience for the younglings.

Actually, we have many who have played playoff games and even won Stanley Cups. We now have so many players from the 2019 Blues championship team in particular (Fabri, Sundquist, Walman, Husso, Peron, and am I forgetting anyone?) that I suspect some might start calling us "The Detroit Blues". But Larkin is the only one left who has played a playoff game as a Red Wing. And yes, we also have plenty of young players with no NHL playoff experience, and getting them some would be a good thing.

The young guys (under 24) haven’t played in playoffs, but much of the rest have. Vrana, Maatta, Copp have all been in postseason as well as the former Blues.

I'm revising my draft pick prediction. I had originally said we'd be drafting either 13th or 14th, indicating a major improvement over last year but missing the Playoffs. I am now thinking we'll be drafting somewhere between 15th and 18th, indicating a very good chance of making the Playoffs. Currently two points behind Florida for the second Wild Card spot, but with FOUR GAMES IN HAND ON THE PANTHERS. This means we're in great shape to make up points on many teams.

My worry is keeping this up. They are sitting in a good spot, especially when you look at NYI and FLA because of the games in hand, but they need to take care of business. The 2 OTT games next week and the NYI game will be big. OTT especially since they've struggled with them over the last few years.

Every other North American sports league report standings in terms of "games back" rather than points. This system is more confusing, but it does well at compensating for cases like this where teams have played different numbers of games. By that system, the Red Wings would already be in playoff position.
