We are all voting although I'm nit sure how much our votes matter. There are 500 rock experts have their say, if he doesn't get in, they aren't experts. Vote for him on Smooth Radio top500 songs and see if we can get him number 1, 5 years in a row, the only artist to do that with Careless Whisper, but if he gets number one, like he said himself people must think its the only song he's ever written. The votes are open already. Watch him do, Brother Can you spare a Dime on Pavarotti and friends, he is oustanding

This is so great. You don't hear the song transition before you recognize the lyrics Papa Was A Rolling Stone. It's so fluid. Just pure genious. He was such a talent. I didn't really discover him until after he died, which kinda bothers me. Better late than never, sure, but George Michael deserves to be known by everyone

Nope! It was wrltten and recorded by Adamski in 1989, who later did a version with Seal, which rocketed the latter's career. Nobody knows of Adamski today, but I'm sure he enjoys the royalties!

I was 12 years old living in Scotland when George first came on the scene, since then i was hooked . Im so glad i grew up to his music in the 80s , ive still got all his records but no record player 😅. When he died , a part of me died , now the only singing i wanna hear is angels . My favourite songs are everything she wants, cowboys and angels , kissing a fool, freedom, i cant make you love me, in fact every one of them.

My absolute favourite #1 performance of George's! He totally turned up the swag! The energy of this performance, the band, the choir, it has a literal pulsing heartbeat! He could really move! And damn he was so gorgeous in this 3 piece suit. He was absolutely owning it, best charity performance ever! I love your joy in your reaction so much Pat! It is truly infectious and has given me so much joy. The look on your face when you start to realise it's THE Papa is a rolling stone, Yessssssss!!! This was originally released in Australia on an EP called five Live, it had the other Wembley Queen tribute recordings on too. This was always the stand out track for me and I'm so happy to find it again! Thanks for sharing this all time choice :)

You nailed my sentiments exactly. Omgoodness, Pat's reaction brought tears to my eyes when listening to George's originals and covers. What people don't appreciate or know about George is when it came to his idols' songs, he stayed a bit in the parameters. He didn't showboat the song, he stayed respectful while putting his essence and style signature to it. He could cover ANY song and any artist. But not any artist can truly cover a George Michael song and make it just as good... they would have to completely change it in order not to be compared.

I do also have to say that, although this is one of my favorite performances of here, I really do prefer just listening to his voice. It’s nice to have the background singers, but I prefer hearing just his voice because that’s what warms my heart and I think his voice is the best and greatest, not to say by any means that any of the thing with a lot of background singers aren’t as good it’s just that that’s me and that’s my preference . Those songs that have just him on a fantastic as is all of the songs. Whatever I hear of his chest, impresses me and shocked me more and more and it’s just when I think I know all of his songs, something else that comes up and just makes me sit there in awe of his voice. It is the greatest thing in the world to me

You definitely should do more George Michael videos. Ignore the hair if you go back to Wham! days. just the voice and performance. Original singer/songwriter/arranger producer... didn't need 20 people for an album let alone a song. The greatest male vocalist of his generation. The problem with the singers today, especially male identifying singers, I feel so much that they have beautiful voices. Perfect voices, but there is no depth, no passion, emotion, pain, longing. Just pretty or impressive but not VISCERAL like George Michael.
