Great to follow, just a small note, on your last command if Apache is not Active, we may need to add 'sudo' for each systemctl command on that command line string. I added sudo on all three references of the systemctl: sudo systemctl start apache2 && sudo systemctl enable apache2 && sudo systemctl status apache2 and it works. THANK YOU for your guidance. Haven't touched this for at least 10 years 🙂

Do I still need to install a firewall on my AWS instance if I already have security groups and firewalls set up in the AWS console?

theoretically no, just make sure the instance IS correctly behind the AWS firewall
