Man, when I learned the AX8 could do this stuff it blew open the doors of creation. Great breakdown!

Thank you for still doing AX8 Tutorials! I have a request for upcoming videos regarding controllers: Could you cover how to set up a nice autoswell preset for the AX8? I tried it myself (I think I worked with the "envelope" function) but compared to the autoswell preset from the DL4, I have to play each tone or cord alone and have to mute my hole guitar before i play the next tone beacause otherwise it wont do a volume swell. Is there any good solution to that? I hope you can understand my problem, I'm not a naitve speaker^^ Keep it up!

I think you can use the Sequence modifier, modifying a filter or whatever you where modifying with the envelope in the first place. You set the sequencer for 8 or 16 steps, setting the level of each step just a little higher, giving it the curve you want.. then adjust the rate or sync it for tap tempo or midi tempo settings and good to go. LFO is a good option as well, but you'll have to work with preset curves.

Was trying to use this amazing ideas today but got stuck on trying to set a modifier so that my Drive Block goes from 5.23 in Scene one to 7.23 in Scene 2 but just couldn't get it to automate. So what I did instead is copy my drive settings from X to Y and in Scene 2 use the Y settings and that worked like a charm. Still would love to learn how to automate the drive level on the Drive Block from Scene to Scene so that it is at different levels depending on what Scene I choose.

In axe edit how would you set up where as I raise the master volume up the eq parameters would change at the same time all in one patch or scene My result is To only boost the mids while the bass and trebles ether stay the same neutral or get lowered ? Trying to create different boost pedal ideas using just eq
@matimarcori4 жыл бұрын
Eq both in amp and eq blocks cant be modified. However, filter block can. You can also modify the amp volume or master volume. So.. if you split your signal after or before the amp and put a filter block in the 2nd path, you can set the filter to a bandpass, adjust the specific frecuency and Q you want to accentuate, and then attach a modifier both to the filter level and the amp level. If you balance it properly, you should get both a volume boost and a frecuency boost at the same time. Depending on wether the filter block feeds the amp or the amp feeds the filter block, you would get different results. The first one being like turning the knob on an eq pedal or the amp mid knob, and the second one being more like a F.O.H or mixing engineer move. Hope it helps.

How about if you just want to switch from a high gain channel to a clean channel without any delay (lag)...also without having to remap the universe?
@PlagueScytheStudios5 жыл бұрын
If you want that, buy an FM3 or AXE FX III. X/Y switching will simply always have a degree of dropout.
@matimarcori4 жыл бұрын
@@PlagueScytheStudios You can actually disable the press and hold option in the ax8 menu. By default, ax8 switches between X and Y when you let go of the button, rather than when you actually press it. By disabling that, it will switch instantly between x and y. It drove me crazy when I bought it and once I disabled that, I could jam and gig with no lag at all. At least not a mood killer lag.

I mean, you would need to assign the foot controller to a scene change in which that x/y change happens, instead of doing that with the x/y default switch. Its a workaround but I don't think it has any drawbacks. Who can't manage with 7 scenes per preset anyway? =)

Can you have a clean amp like Shiver Clean on X for scene 1 and then have a friedman on Y for scene 2 and then use scene controllers on the input gain for just the friedman for scenes 2-4 for example? I tried to do it but it didnt work.
@PlagueScytheStudios5 жыл бұрын
What exactly isnt working? If you set the proper percentage for each scene under the controller tab, it should switch automatically.

@@PlagueScytheStudios I got it working..didnt realize that i needed to use scene 1 as the controller and then map the rest..
