Leon Learning so much from you. Thank you for making the ax8 easy to understand, and thank you for taking the time to teach us all how to Understand the ax8.

In my opinion, the simplicity of a preset shows just how good a modeller is. You should be able to have a great sounding preset with Amp and Cab.. PERIOD. If you have to pre and post EQ the hell out of it you might as well get a Boss GT or a Digitech. The modeller shouldn't require any more tweaking than the real amp did, at least not with the current gen of top end modelers at a $1500 price point ;) Got an AX8 on order. I'm excited :)

Finally a video of someone using chorus and not ragging on it. I love chorus "80s 4 life".

Dude, your videos are awesome but sometimes (like this one) the volume of your mic is so LOW that I have to crank my volume like crazy to understand you, and then when you play guitar it scares the sh*t out of me! lol... please continue you great work but make your voice volume more audible :D

Leon whispering: "... now we're going to change this setting and we will see what this sounds like..." Me: leaning towards my screen to hear better. Guitar: "BRAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!" Me: on the floor clutching my ears. LOL. I'm still watching all your videos Leon, great work :)

Hey León!! Great video man. I need know if you can help me. I have some issues with my sound, I mean all my presets sounds with fuzz/crank. My config pad is: 18 db ( because 12 db shows yellow lights on the Main screen) the outputs are on -4 db and all my patches have -12 db) I have an Iron Label 7 string with 2 pair of EMG 707. I am searching a sound like Machine Head, but really doesen't sounds authenthic, have too much fuzz and lose definition. I don't know where is the mistery. Thanks a lot for your amazing videos!!!. PS: For my, Atomic Amplifier sounds much more realistic and dinamic. I compared both and trying to copy same config on same presets...diference is overhealming, I mean: Atomic sounds organic, dinamic and really brutal

Thanks Leon. I'm curious what your guitar I/O settings are in the AX8? You are usually -10 or higher. If I go above -19 or -18 I get the red clip light. All other settings are dialed to taste but pretty close to the block default. I believe my guitar I/O settings are correct for my pickups, I mostly play Music Man guitars.

Jason Haverfield I set the input pad to 6db for single coils and 12 for humbuckers on the I/O menu.

I'm at 12 as well. Mmmm, ok thanks!

Jason Haverfield I'll go double check my settings though, to make sure I'm not cutting gain somewhere else.

I've seen other videos of guys using higher amp levels as well so I figure it's something I must have dialed in too hot in the I/O. My custom presets sound amazing for my FRFR rig I just have to be careful not to clip.

Can you do a video making tweaks on a Angle Severe. Would like to get an idea on some teaks that could make this already high gain amp sound good. Thanks!

Do you think you need a lot of tweaking to get a good tone out of ax8?
@LeonTodd6 жыл бұрын
You don't have to tweak the advanced parameters to pull a great sound. A working knowledge of how recorded guitar sounds work (cabinet/speaker/mic choice and high/low cut in the cab block) is essential if you want to get sounds that work through a FRFR system though.
