Here is the thing i don´t understand : Why kill Fan films? It is bad bussnies. Good bussnies would be, to get behind good fan films, halp them and maybe even bring them to the big screen. Just think wath would be possible: Axanar in a cinemax with the full backing, technicall support and even a bit more money. Ofcoures they would want to make money of of it, but noone would care if they give credit and a fair part of the money to the creaters and backers. And the PR dream that would be. "Look at those evil cooperations fighting with there own fanbase while we work with ours to create better content!" Hey, they didn´t had to say it themself ... the fans would do it for them. Also, I love this ^^

Zeithri, I’ll have to agree with you somewhat. But CBS/Paramount could’ve just as easily approached the creators and offered a helping hand. All Paramount would ask for is that they have the Paramount Logo come on at the start of the film, and obviously a good amount of the profits. The fans would get a good telling of the Klingon War, another great movie to add to their collection, and Paramount gets to go without getting attacked by the fans for making a bad move.

Simple solution don't set a series in the TOS era, call it a prequal, do a complete reboot and label it as "Prime Cannon that leads into TOS"..... Seeing this is bittersweet, and brings a mix of happiness that we *almost* got real Star Trek again, sadness that we didn't ultimately get real Star Trek again, and anger at CBS for not only refusing to make real Star Trek themselves but, moreover, preventing the fans from making it for ourselves.

Very cool! Looking forward to seeing the film, I know it will only be two 15 min films but I still look forward to real Star trek! Thank you! I have been a fan for over 50 years and love TOS and Trek in general, many a fan film did I enjoy till CBS got awkward with the new "guidelines", guess they felt threatened for some reason.

Love the original STAR TREK bridge sounds. The affection crews feel for their vessels is palpable in this film. I was an M1 tanker. The last time I saw an M1 Abrams like was on, it was a museum piece gate guard. Seeing it brought back the days on alert in the rain or snow, watching a sunrise in the desert, the slam-bang of close combat, the wind in my face as we charged across the desert. I understand the affection my Dad had for the ships he served on; he was retired Navy. I can imagine a retired Starfleet Chief, visiting the Ares in the museum, trying to explain the workings of a starship to his grandchildren. Checking out the Studio Store now!

I absolutely love that bridge set. It is so gorgeous. My compliments to the carpenters and effects crew who constructed it. Way nicer than the TOS set, and probably far less expensive to construct. :D

This was (of course) awesome...but. Why oh why is the stardate a Kelvin-timeline stardate? Can we PLEASE just ignore anything Star Trek since 2009?
@axanarfilm
@axanarfilm 3 жыл бұрын
Because Stardates in TOS make little sense and this is 20 years earlier. So we assume they used Kelvinverse style stardates before they adopted the Stardate system from TOS/TNG

@@axanarfilm Fair enough. I did work out a system for TOS stardates once, but it only worked for the series itself and fell apart trying to connect the first few movies. I just had an instinctive shudder at seeing the date. You guys are great!

I remember this was day I felt about my E-Machine. It never broke or acted up. After 12 years it simply became too obsolete to do anymore with it. No more upgrades or anything could help it. I powered it down for that last time and I use it as a foot rest. To the best of my knowledge I could fire it back up.

the set and sound design here is proof that you can make the ship look like it's from TOS without the tech looking too primitive or too advanced.

Could see a very short shelf life for the Ares class. They were built for one purpose only; to fight and defeat the Klingons. Once the war was over; Starfleet would beat their swords into plowshares. Wouldn't even doubt that they would harvest parts from the Ares ships to save on materials on their new exploratory ships. It would only be later when the Borg appeared and the Dominion war began; that Starfleet finally decided to keep a force of battle ships.

@sigmacademy 3 жыл бұрын
In all fairness, with the exception of singular classes like, to name just a few, Akira and Defiant, Starfleet threw its entire exploratory and scientific fleets against Dominion aggression, and that is why the body count and ship losses were so high. Many ships simply weren't built to be warships. The Dominion ships, on the other hand, were all warships or had increased attack capability. :/
