I usually bring (if my bag allows) wig glue and bobby pins. If I'm wearing a costume with layers, I bring panty liners, just to stick them in places that easily accumulate sweat (underarms, inner thigh, chest)

I also plan a bag for every costume! My friends tease me for carrying lots of stuff. And yet, I'm the one everyone always comes to for safety pins, hair ties, bobby pins, band-aids, super glue, tape, a pen. One item I like: fashion tape! Snagged hems, gaping buttons, disobedient necklines-fixes everything! I've saved friends and random strangers with it.

When I took my cousin and my little brother to their first convention. I went full on Mama-Prep mode. I made sandwiches, brought juice poppers, small bags of chips, lollies, two big bottles of water. And I fit that all into my pack back with my stuff like wallet, phone and hoodie. My cousin and brother had their own bags which they carried their spare clothes, in case they spilt something on themselves, and a jacket for when it got cold. I also covered what they should do if we lost each other. When we went through the ticket check-point, there were security guards and the con workers. I stopped and told them if they got lost, to find someone wearing the staff con shirt or a security guard and tell them your lost and show them my phone number. Which I had written on their inner arm. I've been thinking of ways to better prepare for their next con. I think I can put their own food in their bags or because it's a special day I might buy food from the con. I'm also gonna buy lanyards for the kids to wear with my info on them so if they get lost, they can show the con workers and get in contact with me immediately. If that all sounded chaotic, don't worry. When we get there, it's pretty chilled. I let the kids lead and I just follow them. Because I try to go the day before for myself and leave the second day just for the kids. Hopefully we get to go to the con this year. I'm gonna try and make cosplays for them this time.

I find Bobby pins are also great to have, especially if it's windy and your wig is being especially difficult on certain days lol.

Lol, everyone I know is convinced that I have pocket dimensions in all my bags because of the sheer amount of stuff I carry around. It's especially fun when cleaning out my backpack, their faces are great. Comes with being a cosplayer, I guess. I'd also recommend a wallet, a portable phone charger along with your phone for pictures or in case you get lost and your phone is dead, and a granola bar or two so you don't have to worry about forgetting a meal and starving.

i have those tiny toothbrushes so when you eat at the con and have food on your teeth you can just brush it out so your breathe is nice and your teeth are clean!

It's also awesome to have a cosplay that has pockets. I have a cosplay I'm working on at the moment which the coat I have has fake pockets so I though that was a bummer but then I though I can add my own pockets and make then what ever size I want!!!

Phone charger/pocket phone charger. I'm often using my phone to take pictures and it's dies really quickly. Having a way to charge it so I can take more pics and get in contact with my friends is really helpful.

I always have a power pack and fan! Not even a powered one just a little decorative ones that fold up from the dollar store. Because con season gets hot! Sitting in lines, wigs, layers, etc. gotta cool off. Plus a little minimergency kit, they have essentials in it. Usually a dollar too.

i put almost everything in there, but one of the things that i put in there is pads. because you never know when your gonna start or when someone need one. i always bring a pad or two with me no matter where i go. even if you think your gonna start, or know your gonna have it, or even if you don't. its always good to pack some pads. another thing i bring is chapstick and sore medicine. i also hide away emergency money in case if there is ever i need money to go home. so many things xD, you never know what will happen.

Food. Something portable and easy to eat, like a granola bar or something. This year right before con someone posted a recipe for these cookie like things that were made from peanut butter, apple sauce, oats, and chocolate (but I prefer carob). They worked really well.

one thing i think is usefull is adesive velcro. it can be a life saver if some parts of your cosplay flop around or if a button dissapear or a zipper broke!

Heel wearers- bring flat shoes that match your cosplay in case your feet get tired. Binder wearers- bring a sports bra. super important. cons get hot, and sometimes it's difficult to breathe, so bringing something to wear if you have to take off your binder is super duper important. nothing worse than not being able to breathe.

I usually grab a some base paint and paint brushes for armor (I've had paint peal off worbla) and portable hot glue just in case all goes wrong with props and armor

Love building bags into props. I made my Venus fly trap into a hidden purse for poison ivy only it was waaayy too small. Could only hold my ID and money. Good suggestions too. I bring most of those too plus a small snack cause con food isn't cheap. I bring double sided tape just in case . and my phone or camera with charger . and lately bring electrical tape because its black and it matches a lot of my outfits for repairs in armor and such.

Ive learnt that going to Cons with two Girls you need a biggish bag as you can guarantee you will be the pack horse! Space for 2 Pairs of Flats, their Purses/Make up etc, Also learnt to carry around Hairbands/Hairclips/Bobbypins, I carry my DSLR Camera as well, plus everything else you have mentioned! Might have to add the Cards to the pack though.

Also! If you're wearing contacts ALWAYS keep eye drops and your contact case in your bag!! I had my contacts get dry at a con once and I had to take them out and put them in a water bottle. NOT FUN!

My plot to incorporate a bag into a Kaylee cosplay (if I do one) is to use a tool box. Because it would make sense for Kaylee to carry around a tool box. For Sarah Jane, maybe a K9 out of an esky, I don't know... Also, possibly breath mints if you have bad breath and you're meeting someone you admire, so you don't have bad breath when you meet them (so if they remember you it isn't as the person with bad breath). Maybe a small mirror. And a device to take photos with people. And some small form of food in case the lines at the place are too long or you don't want to eat the food they have. Throat lozenges.

The only thing you didn't mention that I also always bring is a way to get out of whatever makeup I'm in, either makeup wipes or spirit gum remover. Sometimes you just need to get out of makeup and I want to always have a way to do that, especially if I'm wearing anything that's special effects-y and stuck to my face.

Medical tape and tissues!! You can combine it to make short time band aids or quickly fix things with the tape till you reach the repair station. Or I pack a hella lot of safety pins and superglue cause my cosplays tend to fall apart when I'm on con XD
