This is why Fractal is King. They never stop the pursuit of Tone Chasing.

I have been using Boss, Mesa Boogie and Fender gear since 1979, years before Fractal existed. I have the real thing, I have real amps, I have had great Tone for 45 years. The Fender TMP has 10,000 IR's of tone, 8 cores of processing power. The TMP has showed me the convenience of digital. The intuitive UI on the TMP lends no learning curve nor manual needed. I am staying with Fender, Boss and Mesa Boogie as I have relied upon for the last 45 years for gigs and home.

I own several load boxes,probably too many,but this is why they all sound different…they are all based on different impedance curves…..My Fractal X-Load sounds very different from my Fryette Power Station,which sounds very different from my Suhr Reactive Load….it makes a big difference…..Being able to mix and match in the AxeFXIII is very cool..

I'm not sure if this test is done correctly. To test the tone differences in Speaker Impedance Curve Algorithms, shouldn't the only variable be... Speaker Impedance Curve Algorithms? If the IR in the Cab block is different for all 8 scenes, then you can't really compare the 4 Speaker Impedance Curve Algorithms. It's like testing the significance of 4 different engine models for car speed, but with 8 different Chassis as well - some heavier, lighter, more aerodynamic etc. thus affecting the result of the vehicle's speed. This test would not single out the desired test variable of Engine models. If I were to test it, I would have a matching Speaker Impedance Curve Algorithm with the IR cab in scene 1, and set that as the only Cab IR for all the other scenes (2-8) as well, and have a unique Speaker Impedance Curve Algorithm for scenes 2-8. I.e. [AMP 1, CH 1-4 | AMP 2, CH: 1-4] , [CAB 1, CH:1] . Anyway, Speaker Impedance Curves are the 2nd most important tone shaping variables, before Cab IR's in 1st place. I would only rank the basic BASS, MID, TREBLE knobs on the "TONE" page as the 3rd most important factor.

I thought the same thing, was half watching and thought “wow, what a difference! Far more than when changing the impedance on my Waza TAE!” (Which is not insignificant)… only to realize at the end that these were all different IR’s?

Thanks for the comment! I chose 1 amp, 4 SICs, 4 matching IRs and 4 non-matching IRs, just to show the difference between matching and non-matching and how you can have 8 different sounds while using the same Amp. It sounds like you want to expand on the non-matching scenario. I'm not understanding why that would be correct. However, you appear to see the validity in that type of test, so go for it and let us know the results!

@@DougBsDigitalDen From my own testing, it doesn't completely change all of the tone's frequencies/phase like an IR change does, rather it only really changes the mid range characteristics.

If im running through a Marshall jcm 900 cab, what curve should I run? I don't know what fractal calls Marshall stuff.

I'd suggest trying any of the 4x12 Brit curves, like the 4x12 Brit 800. Good luck!

How do you find a speaker that matches the amp's speaker impedance curve from the speaker bank list?
@DougBsDigitalDen2 жыл бұрын
Pete - what I did was choose 4 curves, then opened the Cab block and clicked on Picker. Then I did a search for various attributes, like "G12-75T" or "Hipower". Then I would choose something from the list of results. Sometimes there is an exact match, other times it's a close match.

Do you have a link for the new Echo Room Reverb?
@DougBsDigitalDen2 жыл бұрын
Pete - it is part of the latest firmware,. If you have a Reverb block in a preset, click on the dropdown box to see if it is listed in the types.

Why do I not see many, if any females going into such detail with amp and cab sims etc? We guys are a salespersons dream with all this tech, and pedals, and gadgets in general 😂
