Great video Doug. I think you should turn this into a monthly series, matching a specific player and tone each month. Cheers.

Tone Matching a source with reverb will generally yield inaccurate results, as is the case here. The source needs to be dry with no effects. A popular misconception is that you need to match the source as closely as possible prior to Tone Matching.

I’d say the high frequencies are a little too high at the end result- sounds somewhat shrill- kinda like the No cab sound

Now I’m curious-which was the factory preset(s) tone matched by way of KZbin audio? 😋

Fantastic video I've been wanting to try out this feature myself. Now if you will forgive a dumb question... Does your source need to be isolated? I.e, does the guitar need to be soloed so that all other instrumentation is out vocals drums bass, etc? I can't imagine it does a tone match from the flat recording with all the instrumentation does it? If it does need to be isolated how can you achieve that?

Yes, the reference source needs to be isolated and should have no effects (delay, reverb, etc) if at all possible. My reference signal was 26 seconds of Dickie Betts playing by himself. I'm guessing there are multi-track versions of some songs available, so you would be able to play the guitar track all by itself. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks so much for the response now the trick is going to be finding the isolated stuff haha.
