This was obviously intended to be a short….but it was :30 seconds too long. I know this is very basic advice, but I see sooo many people make this common mistake. #wood #woodchopping

Also. I just meant gun oil, you can’t necessarily say that word on other apps. As stupid as that is. But Gun Oil, Beeswax, Axe Head Oil and WD-40 can all do the trick.

He says in his new video that he hates the Helko that he uses, bc it breaks about every time he uses it. He had no favorite. I'm trying to change THAT!!! The Fiskars 8 lb splitting maul is NOTHING like the Collins or Truper...or any other Maul. It DOES have a synthetic handle yes but the handle is nothing like the other brands. I've used two others, Collins and Truper and Fiskars is in a League of it's own. First off, like you said, break it they will replace it. Second, with the vibration dampening handle, it feels so much better and less tiring. Third, it just plain Works better, possibly due to the different design of the head; it is like no other Maul head in existence and if you try one, I am pretty sure that you will finally have found your favorite Weapon of Wood Splitting Mass Destruction!!! $69.00 bucks online. You can buy three of them for one of those Helkos you hate so much. If you break it, you have a back up reading l ready to go. Break it, the it to where you bought it and get a new one...or just email a pic to Fiskars. At least that's what I did for my geared lopper my son broke.

If you want to cook or smoke with the wood, use vegetable oil. Not only for the splitter blade but also for the bar oil in the chainsaw. Have a complete separate setup for food grade wood. Electric chainsaw on fruit and nut trees are prime for smoking meat.

Can you please list the axes you have been using, links would help too but not necessary. I see you leverage about 3 that I can tell from watching. I love the passion.. I get that crazy mind goal to split as well once you start throwing down.. Your on another level. Some side angle vids will help see the correct technique and form. Thanks!

You can coat the head with ceramic. Slickoleum, etc. Project Farm does a video on car finishes and he does a phenomenal job as in all of his videos. I think the best one was by Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions. Another channel I got coded his snowblower with ceramic so the snow wouldn't sticking so that would be a good video watch also for ideas and principles of coating things that you don't want the stick

🤔 Mine gets stuck even if it's splitting maul (axe) and I use that, pew pew oil. W40 oil. Still gets stuck. I mean, it's more fun coz it feels like man's work when doing all that, it's just tiring when the axe gets stuck every single time 🤔
