Nice video of your Ram 1500. I also have a 2017 Ram 1500. Yours is a little different than mine. I like those side cargo holders that are built in. Wish mine had that. Mine didn't have tow hooks when I bought it, but I installed them about a year ago. We bought our's for towing our travel trailer. I have the integrated brake controller. I didn't see that in yours? As far as the type of gas to use, my manual says that they recommend 89 octane, but it says you can use 87. I have always used 87 octane, even when towing. Haven't noticed any performance issues. I just bought a new battery for it today. Haven't installed it yet. Probably later this week. The one in mine is the original and since we go camping a lot, I think I'm on borrowed time with an almost a 5 year old battery. Are you planning on doing any towing with it? Nice video and a really beautiful truck!! I'm jealous!!

I tow occasionally, mostly a short box trailer with stuff to and from a storage unit. I use the truck to carry my instruments and gear too 🤟🏻

Gary P, what size camper do you pull? I am currently looking at a 2017 Ram 5.7 for that very purpose and wonder what it will comfortably tow. Thanks!

@@davidd9013 I pull a 2019 Coachmen Catalina 243RBS. It weighs about 5600 lbs or so. Plus with cargo and everything else in it, I'm pulling 6000 lbs. I've pulled it up mountains in Colorado and it did it fine. Good engine, too!

Also I just heard you say 78k miles on a truck is high? What I have had 3 of these from 2014-2020 my current and the last 2 easily went 250k before I traded it in perfectly fine. New trucks will go 200k plus easy and 100k is just getting broke in. Unless it’s a northern truck with rust (:. Don’t let mileage scare you on a truck only on a car or crossover I would be concerned. Besides Honda or Toyota. Trucks are built to handle heavy weight so they will last longer the mileage. 78k is just a baby but usually as you get to know and learn more about trucks you will understand what I’m saying.

Hey thanks for your comment! 😊 That 78k mile truck was pre-vehicle shortsge, and the salesman we had at the time, wouldn't let me test drive it for some reason like they were trying to hide something about it 😂

@@AxelFuentesMusic Yes a Big Horn, and has the Big Horn package 26S, it has add power sunroof, trailer brake control, 9-Alpine subwoofer , 3.92 rear axle ratio and no tow hooks though from looking at the price sticker!

@@AxelFuentesMusic Yeah, I’m going to see 😂, I’m in Charleston, SC, the truck market is pretty lower I guess. Because I’m seeing 2019’s Ram 1500 fifth generation starting around $30K and greater with under 100k miles!
