The Redwings have probably the deepest pool of defensive prospects in the league now and just thinking about a future where the Wings can roll out Seider, Edvinsson and ASP on any line, and can have defense, offense, size, skill, smarts, natural athleticism, and grit just with those 3 if they can hit their potential

Considering the depth of this draft rivalling that of 2003, his stock is probably top 5! Hopefully despite the current Canucks position! It might be beneficial that they draft for position but best available and if Axel is available it might be a win-win!

I think in any other draft Sandin Pellikka would get selected higher, but when you're up against...Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Carlsson, Smith, etc...it's hard. Then again I think it will come down to where teams land after the lottery and what they need.

I like him for the Canucks too. His skating and breakout/passing make him almost a lock to be a top 4 guy. And the combine showed he's actually 5'11 180 so he's not small at all. Him and Quinn Hughes would make an insane pairing that would be unprecedented in the NHL. Two ultra mobile ultra high-IQ Defenceman. Ideally you get a big bruiser shut down guy to play with QH but this pairing could be a "mould-shattering" one in the NHL. His strength will improve. The only caner is those moments where he gets lost and does nothing in the D end

All i got to say is his offensive skills are superstar caliber. A little more strength and positioning isnt hard to add(basically he doesnt lack the tools). Whatever team gets him is gonna be so lucky, especially if its outside the top 6. Would be fantastic for vancouver fits the swede theme too, and when quinn leaves for the devils.

The Red Wings' super scout, Hakan Andersson, said Yzerman told them "no dogs", meaning we're not taking high skill guys who lack intensity or have a low compete level. David Reinbacher is a more likely pick from Yzerman.

Perfect replacement for Hronek....so Detroit has to be strongly considering him for pick #9. They do not have a dman who is this dynamic this in their farm system. ASP will be long gone by Detroits #17 selection. Rationale should be BPA as Detroit just extended their rebuild more years. Why have the #9 ranked forward when you could have the #1 ranked RHD.

I'm curious to see how his skill set and play translates to a smaller more crowded rink. Every highlight I see, he's never really challenged and has plenty of time and space. That's not the case in the NHL.

Kinda got a feel for that at the World Juniors and he did struggle a bit there offensively, but he has the toolset to produce...I guess he needs to adapt to the smaller rinks so some time in the minors may help with that.

A lot to like and some areas of concern. One red flag for me is his compete level. I would say he's a mid to late first round pick, but a team will probably reach for him since he's a right shot D.

Yeah defenseman are harder to gage when it comes to long-term upside if they are not elite (think Dahlin). But Sandin P definitely has some offensive tools that a lot of teams like.

Ouch as a Hawks fan hope they don't end up with another Bovquist. I like Bonk in the second round. To much good forwards at 19. Although they made it known they want to move up.. Davidson has something up his sleeve. Trade with Vancouver. Than trade down further sacrificing there 2024 1st pick. Thinking they want Rienbacher or Mitchov. Staying at 11 would be fine to. Hawks have two first rounders in the 2024. Would they be worth a risk of Mitchov or Rienbacher. The later I feel is a big reach.
