AXIA Elite Trader Executes Large Trades On Pfizer Covid Vaccine Phase 3 Study Results

In this video, Adam is going through the trading execution of AXIA Elite Trader Demetris Mavrommatis, over the Pfizer Covid vaccine announcement, which occurred on Monday 9th of November 2020.
This day marked a potentially huge victory in the fight against the pandemic as Pfizer was the first pharmaceutical company to present hugely positive data from a large-scale study on its experimental COVID-19 vaccine.
In particular, the interim results from the Phase 3 study which involved more than 40,000 people, showed that the Pfizer Vaccine was found to be over 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 infections.
The announcement from Pfizer sparked huge Risk-On across the financial markets, with global stock markets surging while safe-haven government bonds and Gold tumbled.
As soon as the results were released at 11.45am London time, within the first few seconds, the Elite trader bought 400 E-mini S&P, 90 DAX and 150 Dow while selling 540 Bunds. The large positions combined with a huge market reaction resulted in the trader profiting over 1,300,000 USD.
While he covered his equities positions relatively quickly as he felt they had reacted hugely in a very short timeframe, he decided to hold on to his short Bund position for a longer period of time, while also positioning short in the 30Y treasuries.
Both Bunds and Treasuries eventually tumbled on the huge risk-on sentiment and on the assumption that central banks might end up scaling back their huge monetary stimulus faster than expected, as the positive vaccine developments fuelled optimism that the world’s economies would emerge from a pandemic-induced recession.
Later on, and as he covered his risk-on positions and locked a huge P&L, our elite trader felt that the equities had over-extended to the upside. Leaning on the Nasdaq, as the rotation out of tech and into value stocks started gathering pace, he managed to capitalise further by scalping short the equities.

Brilliant. Massive learning :) Update: Watched it a second time. The best thing about this video is to see the actual executions of elite trader. Almost all trading videos never show actual execution . Strategies are a dime a dozen but execution is what matters. Simple fact of how he bid way above the market in the Spoos to get his size teaches you to respect liquidity yet keep risk in check. For a newbie it is tempting to put in a market order but to put on size using bids is a golden nugget.

Hello guys, I have a curiosity ! During an execution of this size, how does an elite trader manage the security of the trade? You mean a stop loss? Or does it enter without stop but the prop has a "var" that comes into effect in the case for example the platform or the servers crash? I would like to know that security measures could be implemented in front of these quantities, thank you I admire...
