When I upgraded my servos on my AX24 I needed to set the trim for the rear as well. So I disconnected the front servo from the ESC and then set the trim for the rear. Plugged the front back in and it stayed right where I set it. It tracks better now than stock out of the box.

There were two reasons why we decided to bring the skid plate lower. One was of course clearance for the motor but the other one was to bring the weight of the transmission/motor lower on the chassis itself. The loss of ground clearance is more than made up by the lower center of gravity. I'm glad you enjoyed it 👍.

Rear servo trim solution! I cut two old steering links so I had the correct length to align the rear steering. Then I used marine grade heat shrink tube to glue them together. It took two tries to get it right. Also with an Injora red 050 motor the crawl control is awesome!

##TLDR WARNING## I got a new AX24 for my nephew, saw your first video and ordered some wheels/tire/brass and that Injora 050 50T and sent all that with it. My brother reports that my nephew is doing good with it, but its really jumpy. Just like your video, I'm assuming. After watching your video I figured an aftermarket ESC to the rescue, looked at all the Furitek stuff and I'm getting concerned over compatibility with the 2-in1 receiver on the AX24. There are warnings on the Lizard Pro with BT dongle module (FUR-2073) that its not compatible with HRZ00005 receivers. Is the Spektrum (SPMXSE2425RX ?) that comes with the AX24 this variety with a HRZ0005 board? You show the Lizard ULTIMATE (Fur-2226) running on the 050 brushed motor. That's exactly the performance I'm targeting (its better than I'm looking for actually), but its on the flysky receiver. You comment in the video that it will work with the stock receiver and radio. I looked it up and found the Lizard Ultimate has no such compatibility warning on the Furitek site. So with or without the FlySky, this is a potential solution @+$100 I've seen other folks that have bought the full Stinger package including the integrated Lizard PRO (in the box with Blue Tooth inside). That one also works on stock electronics. So i'm thinking that the Lizard Pro in the AX24 stinger package is not equivalent to the Lizard PRO that you can just buy by itself (beyond the cosmetics being in the box with integrated BT and everything). Seeking lower cost solutions, I looked up the IGUANA ESC, thinking this would be a cheaper alternative, but same compatibility warnings. Bottom line, i'm looking for a "good enough" brushed ESC, appropriate for the heavier than stock weight modded AX24 with stock receiver, and would provide a good slow crawl experience for a budding enthusiast. Basically, how would you have fixed this without going Flysky and Brushless? That is specifically what I'm trying to avoid for cost reasons. The Ultimate is $110, feels like i should just get the whole AX24 stinger kit at that point. Is there a $50 or even $75 solution for brushed motors and stock radios? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I had to do some research before responding here. It’s easier to show you. Check out this short I just posted: kzbin.infoU1CmNrgKvfc?feature=share To summarize, I think your best bet is to wait for furitek to release the ax24 lizard as a stand-alone purchase. @@CapeCrawlers Thanks so much for looking into this! I think waiting till they release it is a good idea. A radio isn’t in the cards and I think waiting for an ESC only or finding funds for the whole stinger kit will be the answer. It’s still a super fun rig as is.

Yeah putting a new motor in it don't do it really that good at Justice with that ESC it's like a start-stop switch that's it

That's why I need to get my budget build video up. This little monster has turned out expensive

Why do none of the videos of this set up point out that the engine rubs the front driveshaft. I installed mine 2 days ago & it was very obvious immediately. After driving it enough to kill the stock battery twice, the driveshaft has a groove carved into it. Prolonged use will shear the shaft & also damage the micro komodo from constantly being hit from the bottom as the car drives over objects. Furitek made their own skid plate for the AX24 & this engine, but they did a horrible job with clearances. And all the people with rc channels sell it like it's the greatest thing you can get. This has made me lose faith in these videos. Everyone's an RC car salesman. The engine is nice & the ESC is smooth, but using them as Furitek has designed in this rc WILL cause damage & waste the money of your viewers. The AX24 is nice with the 4 wheel steering & the Furitek stuff is nice & smooth, but this combo does not work together unless you plan on replacing parts prematurely.

I reversed the drive shaft so they the female end is on the axle side and didn’t have rubbing after that

@CapeCrawlers i tried that too, but it didn't help. It just made it so the male part of the drive shaft hit the engine, which will beat the crap out of the Komodo as it runs. With everything set up stock, they hit when my shocks are about 2/3 compressed. When the drive shaft is flipped, they hit when the suspension almost compressed, but the beating on the engine will be significantly worse. I'm going to try installing the Komodo on the stock skid plate to see if that helps, but so far, I wouldn't recommend the brushless set up to anyone for this RC unless they have money to throw away.

@CapeCrawlers i tried the stock mounting plate & it's not even close to fitting. The Furitek plate would probably work fine if it raised the engine 3/16", used the flipped the driveshaft trick, and then cut a hole in the battery tray. Another thing that i didn't like about the Furitek is the placement of the mounting screws for the Komodo. I had to cut away the top of the transmission case to turn the motor enough so that the mounting screw on the right wasn't against the gear. Also, after getting this all together, the shell no longer rests inside the groove that it was designed for. Overall, I'm not impressed at all with this set up. I'll probably take out the komodo & go back to brushed for this rig, unless i can figure something out. Kinda bummed about it. Nice video on your part, but as a viewer, this would've all been very valuable information to me before i spent my time & money.

@CapeCrawlers yeah man, I've tried everything. Moving the shocks everywhere possible, cutting rubber shock absorbers from the back & doubling up the front, with the flipped driveshaft. That motor hits bad no matter what i do. The free one you got must be designed differently than the one i paid for. I'm going to use the esc with a brushed motor. The Komodo is a no go.
