I'm loving this series and am really wanting to pick up a Bomber for myself. I say we'll let you slide on the iffy episode if you get us some U4 race footage! Great videos Harley, Keep it up.

1) Disregarding the budget build, what servo would your personally use.? 2) For rock crawling only, would a servo saver be advised.? 3) What bead lock wheels will work well on this project.? I haven't purchased the vehicle yet, compiling a list first, and obviously, tire to wheel stickage is an issue.. Raced Nitro Stadium Truck (RC10GT's) for 10 years, never owned an electric RC, only Nitro cars, trucks, planes..and crawling has me excited, being older now (54)..So..your budget video build is VERY helpful, and I appreciated all your hard work and dedication to this Axial Bomber project, and will purchase per your guidance..THANK YOU P.S. Excited about episode #8+

+Wayne Kent 1) I will go to a Futaba S9157 or BLS 172SV in this car soon. 2)No, servo savers are never really used in this genre 3)When I go to beadlocks it will only be from Vanquish or Incision. Tires and foams and wheels will be coming later.

i have smoked 2 promodeler 470 in my bomber under normal trail runs, no bashing. what can i get to survive more then 1 run? thanks

Too bad it was not what you were looking for. I was excited to see a cheaper servo that might be a good option for my son's rig. You didn't talk about the install too much but I assume with the high torque output level for the servo that you did use a BEC?
@HarleyDesignsInc8 жыл бұрын
+11YeeP11 I totally forgot to mention BEC usage. The RX8 Gen2 has an awesome internal BEC so I did not use one. Most any other ESC would need a BEC.

So the question is ....What's your favorite servo ???And I wouldn't feel bad about this episode ... The magnet trick was the shit !!! Thanks !!!I was waiting to see some U4 bashing footage..Looking toward to the next UC Fab video !! I'm modding up a XL Vanquish straight axle for my next build ... Gladiator X ... A XMAXX 4 wheel steer scaled crawler.. I wish Vanquish offered 1/8 1/6 scale axle sets...

great vid Josh. so for a basic scale crawler or even a rock crawler, this is a descent servo?
@HarleyDesignsInc8 жыл бұрын
+2cwik4u104 Yes, for either of those trucks I think it would be a great choice.

have you looked at the Holmes Hobbies Servo's? the BLSHV500 might be a bit high for the budget build but some things you just cannot cut corners on if you are looking for long term reliability. you could probably do an episode on "spending your money on the Right parts" and not cheaping on on Key components and why you will save money buying quality over saving a few bucks ;)

+Nick Pausch I have run the Holmes servos in the past. Gears are the big issue with them, I wish they held up better. Hitec and Futaba is all I have found to truly last.
@One_Guy8 жыл бұрын
i havent ran one of the holmes yet the BLSHV500 is a new one (very recently added to their list) what is really nice is new gear sets are $15 a piece vs hitec at around 30 or 40 depending on what servo and where you go looking.

+Nick Pausch my Holmes 500 died first run in my bomber and waiting for. Replacement... Hitec for me now

+Nick Pausch I am a huge Holmes fan as can be proven by many previous videos. But, I think that for servos in this application, paying a little more will probably save you some money in the long run.

I don't see a link for the Servo tester you used in this episode.

+Sam Teague I just checked, its still in the description. GT Power Tester.

Thanks. I needed to click on "show more" to see it. I ordered one. It does seem like a handy tool to have around.

you can get a savox all metal servo for $40. why not that ?
@HarleyDesignsInc8 жыл бұрын
+Ciarán Farley-Toone (cTurtle98) you get what you pay for in servos. I have ran very high performance servos for too long to be satisfied with Savox. Servos are one of those things that once you run very nice pieces, you just can't go back. I always run over 400oz/in and want speed around 0.12sec or faster transit to 60 degrees.
@myrctribe63098 жыл бұрын
It dus seem like a good servo voor the price. But the Bomer like the Wraith has no servo saver. That combined with the motor you running would beet up any servo. In my Wraith I put the Savox SW-0231MG. It's a relative cheap and waterproof servo and when it breaks I'll just get another one.

It's still your truck... Just like the rest of your electronics... Just put in the futaba, u covered the budget version now do what u want

+Don Mega I really do not like Savox. They are very inefficient and I have killed more motors on those then any other servo brand. Futaba is definitely my preference but Hitec is the only other brand I would run.
