I'm just entering the hobby and buying my first vehicle. As an engineer, I appreciate your frankness and fair evaluation. I guess you could call your explanation: "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" (although not much ugly with Ryft so far). I have been debating (myself) between the LaserNut, Ryft and maybe Bomber. Right now the Ryft gets the nod. Looking forward to the grandsons visit soon and hours of fun with him. Keep up the good work. I look forward to your evaluation after a field test. THANKS.

What is horizon doing to this hobby? Making it more accessible for people? Making parts cheaper and more common?
@gasolinediesel9723 жыл бұрын
@@peytonberg7872 Parts cheaper and more common? What drugs are you on? They have the most expensive replacement parts of any company I've ever seen. They also have pretty bad parts availability, at least compared to traxxas. I think he's making a reference to how poorly this thing is designed. People are having tons of issues with it. I wouldn't say that they are ruining the hobby though.

@gasolinediesel9723 жыл бұрын
@@peytonberg7872 If we compare the arrma kraton 8s to the traxxas xmaxx, the xmaxx has much cheaper parts, despite the actual vehicle being more expensive. There aren't many parts for horizon brands at my lhs, and it's even hard to find them online sometimes. The only traxxas that I've had trouble getting parts for is the traxxas udr, which makes sense considering that it isn't one of their best selling vehicles, and even then, it's still easier to find parts for it than any of my horizon vehicles.
@2ndGenDesigns3 жыл бұрын
My problem with them is monopolizing the industry. There buying up all the brands and making it all the same. The quality is going down and and down. It comes across in the videos even. Are they making some cool stuff sure is it quality......well that's debatable. Sbr 2.0 looks awesome but somehow missed the whole car folding in half right out of the box. Not to mention the assembly. Then we get this ryft with the front end crashing all over itself right out of the box. Just because they keep putting the axial name on it dosen't mean its still axial....or what ever other brands they have already scooped up. It would be like one of the major car manufacturers buying up all the rest and building them all the same and putting different badges on them and calling them different. Sadly were seeing it across all types of industries......the MONOPOLIZING of everything! That really only hurts us the end users just to put more money in there already big pockets. Sad it is!

Watching the available vids makes me worry to buy....doesn't seem reliable long term...? lot of broken parts ....and few available ... Axial fails on this ... my 2 cent
