Can NEVER go wrong with Crawler Innovations Foams!!! For Trailing and non Comp Course running, the Double Deuces are the way to go for about 80% of Rigs. Since the outer Ring is tunable, you can use them for a wide variety of Terrain. For highly Technical Comp Course Wheeling, the Single Stage Deuces Wild are the ones you want! They can take Crazy side Hilling and keep the sidewalls where they belong!! 👍👍 However they're not the best for hard Rock Climbing. GOOD choice! And the Rock Beasts, great Tyres!! Mud Slingers are also a good, timeless choice. Carmine 💥 ⛽

What are you thoughts on the Axial Ripsaw 1.9" tyres? Which inserts would you recommend for them for a mixture of crawling and trail running with a SCX10 Dingo. Or would you recommend getting a different tyre?

Hi David. Ripsaws are a pretty good stock tire, so I'd say improve their foams rather than jump onto more expensive tires (unless you are getting into competitive driving those tires should work fine). What foams you use depends on the weight of your rig, what surfaces you run on and personal preference... I'd recommend either (check your sizes): 1) Crawler Innovations 'Deuce's Wild' solid cell foam for a heavy rig / longevity / firmness to avoid the tire crushing on sidehilling etc. See www.crawlerfoams.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=91 2) Crawler Innovations 'L'il Nova' dual stage foam for lighter rig / more tire deformation on rocks etc. See www.crawlerfoams.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=64 If it was my rig I'd go for the Deuce's Wild foams, as they are waterproof and will not crumble with age. But others do not like how stiff they are (although you can tune this by trimming down some of the ribs in the middle of the foams.

4WheelRCUK Thanks for the detailed response, much appreciated. I would like to enter a couple competitions when time allows but will mostly be trail running/crawling on various terrain. I'll be buying a second SCX10 shortly which I would like to set-up for competition use, I'll be getting a heavier abs RC4WD Mojave body for that rig. Saying that, the Dingo body is quite heavy.

David Fraser Watch where you go wrt. adding weight up top. My Rubicon has so many 'toys' on the body making it perform worse than e.g. a stock Dingo or G6. For fun trailing do whatever you fancy, but for competitions I'd recommend the lightest possible chassis/body set-up and keep all your weight on the axles (wheel weights, beef tubes, weights strapped onto the axles etc.)... I have a new competition build planned that will be adhering to this mantra! :-)

4WheelRCUK It sounds like I might be better keeping the RC4WD Mojave body for my fun/trail rig. So many options. Cool, sounds good, will you be making a video series on your comp rig?

David Fraser Certainly will be videoing the build series, but won't be until early 2015 now.
