I have a 2300kv axe combo in mine, with the good 2 piece ar44's, SSD brass knuckles, SSD aluminum chubs, power hd becless servo, stock tires and foams with vanquish methods. It's an absolute beast, haven't broken a thing. Farthest rear drive shaft has fallen out, so I cut one longer and works good now. But always have a spare or 2 with me. This rig will trail and climb with the best of them

Nice t-shirt 👕. Because of yours and other channels. I Just bought my first ever RC car/crawler, well actually 2. Went with a Trx4 sport RTR Tan, which I don't receive till the 15th June(out of stock) and the Trx4 sport kit, to build up with nice parts, later on. When I can drive/crawl without destroying stuff. Think I'm hooked already? Cheers from Aotearoa NZ.

Another advantage is that it is more or less available as a kit starting from the raw builders kit and a manageable parts list of what you need to extend to 6x6. As for traxxas that would mean a huge list of small parts to puzzle out.

That looks fun:) I made one a while back with spare parts from my scx10. Used a dual 55t brushed motor setup and a Kyosho blizzard body then finished with sheet metal for a flat bed look. It’s tough as nuts and so much fun.

Hey Man, You forgot the 'click here' for the other videos. I've got a UMG10 to build and I want all the ideas I can get. There is a $3.12 +shipping cure for your rear driveshaft. Integy make aluminum splines in 4 different lengths. Get the longest one that will fit or better yet get one that is too long and custom fit it.
@RCReviewChannel4 жыл бұрын
That doesn't quite work since there's a design issue. If one get it long enough that it won't fall out, full travel of the shocks is not allowed to happen. The best fix I've seen is the addition of two springs at the end of each driveshaft. This keeps that floating driveshaft centered and not able to fall out.
@laundrieshanging90774 жыл бұрын
lol im new to the crawling scene, so im wondering why your bashing up the hill? lol arent we supposed to go slow? i just bought my own 6x6 last weekend.
@RCReviewChannel4 жыл бұрын
Good question. There's many ways to get up a hill, crawwwwl, momentum or bash up. A 6x6 has a few more options because of the fron and rear weight prevent the car from looping out climbing or endo'ing going down. Just wanted to demonstrate the range of this vehicle. It crosses over to the 'rock racer' genre of crawlers We have a Traxxas TRX-6 too and its range is INSANE!! Options are good for some folks. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gYbNY5qlqdlmmKM

The stock trx6 tires are pretty great. I’m running them on my Capra right now lol. You’d have to spend $60-$100 on just tires for the umg right off the bat, so it’s more like $550 vs $600. The trx uses a larger 550 motor which means more torque. A6x6 with a 540 is just dirty axial. On my trx6 I have a high kv Holmes brushless motor with low gearing. Very good control in 1st gear and tons of speed in 2nd. My Capra with a compromise single speed is not low enough, using the lowest possible gearing without trans modification, and doesn’t have much wheel speed. I can’t imagine how slow it would be with a brushed motor. There have been many hill climbs where the 6x6 in high gear barely had enough wheel speed and traction to make it up. If you’re only on high traction surfaces like rock then it doesn’t matter, but my trx6 is my take everywhere truck where the Capra is pretty much technical climb stuff. The umg is going to be too slow for really loose situations. I have some videos showing the power and control of the Holmes hobbies 2700kv standard “540” length and 4100kv R “550” length motors. My trx6 can crawl with more finesse than my Capra and thats all down to gearing. 64:1 vs 42:1 but then the trx can switch to 25:1. Iirc.

Great video and review. What i was wondering is geometry of rear most axle. It is connected with links as if it is 'copy/paste' of 2nd axle. On the real truck (let's take Tamiya rc semi trucks as an example) rear axles are connected as if they are on a swing rack with central pivot point in the middle of them. If this mode is done I think this could change rc 6x6 into more capable crawlers. This way rear axles both stay on the ground while whole body is up 45 or more degrees, and with all 4 rear tires gripping it should launch body up. As I can see now, as-is model has all the time 2 out of 3 axles on the ground while going over the hill. Just a thought. ;)
