The blue ring gives it a distinct look. They look nice with the blue color.

Great stuff! I just picked up a Yeti XL and stripped a wheel hex within 2 runs because I didn't check them. Doh!

I know this is way after the fact, sorry for not responding. I've been there, the stock Axial plastic is just way too soft. I went with the RC4WD Dick Cepek Beadlocks and Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ.... I wanted quality wheel that wouldn't break, along with taller tirs that weren't too heavy 👍

Nice video, looks great either way...I use those wheels on my D8t and NItro Circus MT. (Minus the faux beadlock rings =) They've held up very well! And I totally agree with you on keeping your wheels/tires light on high-speed bashers. Saves many expensive parts from unnecessary wear and tear.

Great advice there man. I boiled my tires off the rim many years ago. I went out the back while one was boiling and got distracted and next minute the water had boiled away and the whole house reeked of burning rubber! would hate to see what happens if you forget about them in the oven ha ha

Those tires look awesome on your crawler with those Rival rims. I looked over all the methods for removing tires and decided on the acetone vapor method, it works excellent, you aren't really touching any acetone and it loosens the glue on the wheels and tires and you can easily scrape it off with your fingernail, all you do is find a plastic container with a lid that seals well and put some acetone in the bottom of the container, then put a piece of wood that's a bit taller than the acetone level, put your tires on the wood and wait a few days, when they are ready they come very easily with no damage to the tires or wheels. Maybe you would like to try it, just an idea for you since it was so easy. I got the Tekno Truggy coming this week, can't wait to get it running.
@robertperry20797 жыл бұрын
Very nice, yeah acetone is nasty but you never touch it or even smell it really except when opening the lid, very minimal exposure and doesn't seem damage or degrade the tires or wheels. Thanks for the tips on the Truggy , it just arrived today it is the ET 48.3, I will take that advice. My friend has an place in Colombia and he said land there is economical, so we might get a lot and build some awesome tracks like you got.

nice vid just wanted to through a couple things at ya.. don't over tighten the wheel locks because I figured out it was causing the pins to brake "easier" because of the compounding forces of the wheel lock pressure and its natural purpose of turning inertia ... and I've fixed my dogbones by soaking them in red locties or you could use the green penetrating Loctite..Ive also used my shop light to warm up the tires to release the beads. Thanks for the video !!! Talk to ya on RRC and make sure you check out my vid over the hd pinion mod if if you ever install them in your rig .....bash on

My 10 cents worth - I started with stock plastic glued wheels .. with my crawling the tyres broke off from the wheels - then I tried aluminium REAL beadlocks, same problem + others I won't get into here - then tried Proline titus beadlocks (plastic) .. same problem as you had with your stock wheels, rounded off hex socket but now I have Vanquish OMF wheels, so far good all rounders - beadlocks really work and hold onto they tyre in place and the hex is still going strong .. as for the rotating weight I don't go ion it that far, I've been on this setup for a long time, been through a set of Mur Slingers from RC4WD and really beaten the crap out of those with no damage except to the tyres and plastic Proline wheels - in my opinion, I would go from plastic to something stronger not back to plastic and as for those blue beadlocks, if you don't mind picking them up wen they come off during your bashing sessions, then leave them on but they look kinda nice with that truck :) Oh on last thing I would like yu ALL to know, if you go for a set of beadlocks I suggest you get the with counter sunk heads because hitting them against rocks will rip off those beadlock screws heads and water will not help towards the cause. Get beadlocks that actually have screws on the inner side of the wheels that do the actual tightening on the tyres and the outside ones are for show! Lessons learnt from experience!!

***** I have no experience with speed devils like your yeti so I would not know whats good or bad for it .. makes sense what you said :) If it has a weak drive train I'd personally have upgraded that first - and glued a hex hub to the now bad wheels until i get new stronger wheels :) Yes, many wheels out there with screws on the inner side of the wheel .. check and check again. It pays!!

what tires are they pal , im looking for good tall tires for my Axial xl but not as big as mud slingers
@colibrifpv4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for commenting and sorry if I'm a little late. When I was tire shopping the problem with the mud slingers was weight more than size, others had told me that by increasing rotating mass too much you're risking breaking the drive train. I went with the RC4WD Dick Cepek Beadlocks and Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ.... I wanted quality wheel that wouldn't break,. along with taller tirs that weren't too heavy. This combo worked out super well for me, but be warned, it was a tad expensive... Here's running video on that setup kzbin.info/www/bejne/i5LcZq2DpcyDeM0

definitely without! have you tried boiling the tires to get the tires off the rim?
@mitemluh8 жыл бұрын
+Jason's Rc Cave just get a big pot full of water and toss your tires in when the water boils like 5 minutes per side and the glue will release from the rim pretty easy with not a lot of glue left over.
@mitemluh8 жыл бұрын
+Jason's Rc Cave check out rcsparks he posted a video about this and I followed his instructions and it worked really well. I have a yeti xl and you should upgrade the foams to crawler innovations deuces wild closed cell foams. I run 6S now with no ballooning of the tires. you should also think about upgrading everything to aluminum lol. I broke so many plastic parts that I pretty much upgraded to mostly everything hot racing has for the yeti xl and some gpm aluminum parts too. my yeti xl is a tank now and I haven't broke anything for months now. just need someone to make a metal cage now!

it is much better , faster , no smell , no complaints if you use a hot air gun with about 300 degrees Celcious and you can work outside, it take five minutes for every tire maybe less to unglue , clean job and you dont destroy the inner foam
