This saved my HQ from being culled. I played the original decades ago and purchased the newer version when it was released. Although it played similar, I did not have the nostalgic awe that I had when I was younger and I was pretty certain it was due to playing with the app. I took the chance and purchased the entire Axian Quest bundle and it absolutely reinvigorated my adoration of the game. Some of the RAW on the cards have been updated on the creators website so you may want to check those out. I believe it is titles as the Infinite Dungeon rules but in two pages explains how to use each deck. The furniture is determined with the infinite dungeon cards to be generated when the door is opened. Wonderful system! Also, I love the Astral Hunter mechanic to prevent the heroes from creating their own Voltron battle suit without improving their skills.

LOL Voltron battle suits. Yes, big fan of this system and how Axian has designed a solo play experience for us who can't get parties together 👏

Re: Requisites. I think you overthought this from the beginning. The requisites are needed to learn the skill. Not use the skill. That's evident on the instruction card provided. You don't purchase skills during a quest only between quests. And you have both your mind points and body points at maximum between quests, barring rare exceptions. I don't believe there's any need for clarification on the cards themselves. This seems entirely cut and dry to me. That all being said, thank you so much for sharing! I love when you present demonstrations and reviews of homebrew and additional components to customize one's HeroQuest experience like these.

Still the best homebrew for HeroQuest. AxianQuest has become a baseline for all of my games. I build around it, never without it.

For some reason I had the complete false memory that the cards in this deck were smaller than the heroquest cards and that they were difficult to read, so the fact that you compared the sizes was really helpful. also 20:02, 1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6 isn't 1/36, it's 1/216 (0.46% chance to break the crossbow each time you attack). The only reason why this stood out to me is because I made the exact same math error last week, 1/6 x 1/6 x 1/6 really does just feel like 1/36 in our heads doesn't it?

You might have been thinking about the Dungeon deck - those cards are super small! And aye, I've made this mistake countless times when using combat dice. I always think of odds of rolling the same number on 3d6 which is 1/36, but the odds of rolling three black shields is 1/216....very small odds indeed! (But almost guaranteed to be rolled by me when I play a hero during a critical moment that decides the course of my game)

I've now put Heroquest on the shelf and started building an Axianquest game using these and the other 3 decks that no longer limit you to 4 heroes or the HQ board.

The Furniture Deck doesn't work like you think. When a room says it has a piece of furniture, if its not linked to a specific quest, draw a random furniture card and place that.

That may be a revision, but it isn't RAW. The rules card that came with my deck didn't have those instructions.

I did too (these were provided by the creator) - I'm only pointing out that that specific wordage isn't RAW as provided with the official product, at least with my early edition. We might refer to it as RAI or, if he has updated the rule card, then it's RAW currently.
