Axiom CNC Spoilboard Grid and Fence Setup Jig

A while back I put out a video showcasing how I laid out my Axiom CNC spoilboard. This video covers more of that and the jig I use to set it up to make it repeatable.

Got an Axiom pro. Rather than index the boards, I created a 1/2” acrylic carpenters square on the CNC and drill a hole at the fulcrum. Into the hole I can insert a metal pin. This way I can drill a hole anywhere on the table and use the carpenter’s square along with the x-axis of the CNC to locate a perfect 90-degree placement for my wood and it’s not dependent on grids that may shift or get removed with resurfacing.

I also made 4 different size squares with holes to match my pin locations. I can use them on my pins, anywhere along my grids, or wherever I need additional placement. I have several origin locations set at different spots on the table. The grids simply give me the ability to pre-set them and go. I rarely use them for that though. The setting jig is key. I use cam clamps a quite often and the jig helps me ensure my strips are set correctly and spaced before I ever set my X/Y. That's the beauty of CNC. Everyone can set it up the way it best suits their needs and job progression.

Hi What was the size of you Pin holes? and did you use the CNC to drill the holes?

I used 1/4 steel pins and yes, I drilled with the CNC. I used the outermost perimeter and drilled with a 1/4 endmill.
