Axiom Pyro Disc Review

The prism refers to the glittery rim instead of the usual rim plastic they use. It's "apparently" less gyroscopic than the regular plastic they use (because it's apparently lighter) but my prism plasma Hex seems to be my furthest flying Hex so... You know.

@@FlippyJamesDG in prism rims I have a pyro, two trances and a Hex. The first three are Proton base and the Hex is plasma. I actually don't run that Hex (despite it being my favourite) because it's literally dark green with a brown burst. Aka impossible to find in the dang brush and long grass. But it was the only colour left and I wanted to try it.

@@FlippyJamesDG Ive heard the prism trance is really really good. I prefer the Relay and the but if I could afford a trance I would get it. My pyro rim has been one of the most durable disc I've had

This is the most dependable disc in my bag! Can't wait to get my hands on the new tempo from axiom. Its basically a 4 speed pyro.

I’ve only thrown a deflector once at higher elevation in Salt Lake City. Waaaay more overstable than the pyro.

Agreed. BuzzzOS has little glide, and imo is better for woods golf scrambling more than anything

I just recently got a pyro from a friend. I havent thrown it as much as the BuzzzOS, but its definitely not as OS. It has more glide, which sometimes makes scrambling in dense woods a bit more difficult. I really like the pyro though, and its pretty much kicked both my Buzzz, and BuzzzOS out of my bag. The courses near me dont leave a ton of room to throw mids. Ive literally only got the Pyro and Rebirth in my bag. Everything else is 6.5 speed or faster. @@FlippyJamesDG

You should try a Malta. More overstable than the pyro in my opinion. Could do a Malta vs pyro video.

Super curious how it compares to the buzzz os. I find the os is too flippy for what I want. Thinking I might be better off with an overstable 6 or 7 speed.

I’ve had some time with this one now. I feel like my buzzz os would stay straighter longer then fade. This one wants to fade a bit sooner. I prefer the pyro.

@@FlippyJamesDG I should clarify, the buzzz is fine for BH but sometimes I want more confidence on those mid distance FH shots and with a lot of wind the buzzz os sometimes turns. Thanks man!

ESP plastic is straight up money. The only plastic i found i like better, is MVP Fusion. that plastic really defines the gyroscopic effect of those mold designs. So buttery smooth

Some esp I’ve held is kind of slick. Same with some fission. Then other times they’re tacky. Maybe it’s the weather 😝

Yeah i feel that. I really like how close that plastic represents the flight numbers, and the feel is less slick than the z plastic. If you mess with the weights, you can really find one that pans out perfectly and only gets better with time. I always like to bag a couple or a few different plastics and stabilities of my favorite molds. My two favs are my z and my esp avengerss discs. the z always flips up to flat and goes straight. My esp always gets the mid turn and late stability at just the right time. Such tasty flights! @@FlippyJamesDG

Your not going to find a better overstable mid. Verdict is only disc I've had close to as good. Only mids I carry is is pyro esp meteor and z meteor. If you want to see glide pick up a meteor. Prime Truth is glidey too

@@FlippyJamesDG awesome! Mine is prism proton as well but it's orange. One of these days check out the fission plastic in some of their discs. You can drop the weight some and they bomb, and are nicely grippy.

A bit jealous of the orange! Just posted a review yesterday of the Axiom Fireball. 160g Fission. Most fission I’ve felt seem slick to me. That one didn’t though.

Haha did you hear me at 4:44? To explain why, I think it helps the video flow while I’m still talking about the disc. Plus it lengthens the video a little more. From looking at my analytics, KZbin seems to show my videos to more people when they reach a certain length. And I’m wanting the viewer to be able to see where the disc landed closer up.
