That's for ease of reference. For instance, other witnesses might not be acquainted with Slash's legal name. Also the rest of the evidence most likely mentions "Slash", and thus sticking to that name would make it easier for the jury to keep up with the evidence.

While known for being volatile on stage, He's quite a bit more reserved in court... quiet, definitely not stupid; he knows how not to answer questions that haven't been asked, and to not volunteer any information that doesn't need to be. I don't know if the attorney questioning him is his own counsel or the opposing side's, but he's smart enough to pause and occasionally remain quiet after being questioned, to make sure that the attorneys battle it out between themselves before he jumps in with an answer. The guy might be a powder keg on stage, but he's either been coached very well for this deposition, or he's intelligent enough to know how to act. His quiet demeanor here isn't an accident. I've watched many interviews with "Axl" and he's the same man in that courtroom chair. Calm, reserved, charming, thinks before he speaks and when he speaks, intelligent and graceful. He reminds me of another band frontman who also thought deeply and spoke with a quiet, intelligent demeanor but was a demon on stage. Morrison was the same in his interviews and, of course, in court. I respect both of them greatly and wish I could've been a friend and hung out with them. @DashaA4572Mescheryakova Brigades Right?!?! Axl’s range is beyond! He had a very hard childhood from what I understand and as awful as it was on a child … I’m sure it molded his ability to sing through the roof. The times that were so hard he had to dig down and pull that voice from deep inside. It became his gift and his ability to write songs and sing. I’m so glad he “made it” out and his gift is shared with so many. I’m sure he lives with the scars and that is tragic. Selfishly his fans gain from his pain in a way…. His vocal range. His stage presence. It’s clear many many people appreciate his talent. Thank you Axl for making your way up to share with many. Even Slash referred to Axl as the most honest person he'd ever met. It was pretty ridiculous. But Adler felt he had the right to get his royalties..and actually I agree. I personally find Stephen Adler to be sad and obnoxious, but fair is fair. I know Axl is really the genius behind the band, did the best songwriting and of course was the front man and vocalist, who is therefore irreplaceable. I don't know all the details because I wasn't there. I'm sure A LOT happened between the band members because they had such a crazy and wild life, touring, writing and recording music, filming videos, and then having their own drug/alcohol/sex issues with their groupies and girlfriends, etc.

Honestly, I think he behaved really well for the way the man badgered him about drug use. He kept his eyes on his lawyer and patiently awaited someone to excuse him from his answers. Additionally, I didn't really realize that Mr. Brownstone went that deep. I can't believe he had the creative liberties in his song stripped down so deep. At least he cracked a smile when the judge make the hum joke but I just feel so offended that they put him on trial and treated him like he was a spokesperson for the entire band and their drug usages on tour. I just wished it would've been a more relevant interrogation because it sounds like the public offender didn't have much to go on at all.

Public "offender"? what does that mean? The 2nd part of this video suggests that this testimony was in regard to Adler's lawsuit against GnR. Most likely the one examining the witness (i.e., Axl) was Adler's lawyer. Although there's nothing wrong with asking a witness about his peers' drug abuse, I agree that this attorney's questions are pointless and a waste of "judicial resources".
