Apart from that, I was, just like you in your OP, referring to rock singers. If I'd include all singers, no matter what genre, there would be SO many more with an even bigger range (e.g. Dimash, Adam Lopez and Nicola Sedda) c) As mentioned before, you randomly brought up Mariah Carey, not me. However, no it's not true that it was confirmed by "professionals" that Axl had a bigger range than Mariah. It was actually disproven by professionals as Axl's only supposedly super high note (an alleged Bb6 as claimed by fans) was actually a Bb5 with overtones. Axl's actually highest note ever is the C6 in Sorry which is almost an octave lower, which gives him a 4 sth octave range instead of a 5 octave range. But anyways.. all people I mentioned (Mike Patton, Dimash, Adam Lopez and Nicola Sedda.. and let's add e.g. also Kyo and Georgia Brown) would still have a significantly bigger range than Axl, even if Axl HAD a 5 octave range, which is factually not the case, as all of them have either 6 or 7 octaves

Myth Does Everything Man, that is because upper register is damn cruel to bass baritone like Axl. I am sad his voice is not used to be. But his AC/DC performance was great. After 2001 he sounds rather good, not strained much like 90s, now he needs some rest. And he got diverse voice, from low to high. He sounds different at each song. Maybe my measure of 'greatness' of singer is more smaller than yours. I said his techniques are not stellar. I also know importance of technical singing, but I think he was/is (??not to you?) great singer, at least in his prime/brief moment of mid 2000s or 2016. I mean he has solid low notes(I heard his F1, yeah. probably fry). And 2 octaves notes(also that extremely low B1-now I have some thought he can maybe pull out that F1 somehow in chest voice, maybe) would easy for him, maybe being baritone makes him easily reach those notes. His high notes are beautiful, man can't easily reach those notes. No doubt he is the greatest, talented, distinctive singer all time, this man got impressive bottom line notes and crazy high notes with distortion. Dynamic vocal run, versatility. His unique nasal voice. All. I wonder that WTTJ Eb5 is mixed. And there is some song clip 'I don't care about you', there is very gruff high note, I think that is Axl's natural high notes(some say that is not Axl's voice at all). How about his 6 octaves notes? And how about Axl's actual supported vocal range? I think F1-B6 would be needed more explanation. I saw bigger vocal range- Corey Taylor, Mike Patton. All great singers.

well, it's your opinion, but we can't assume nothing, if i make a vocal range of any singer i include certain notes, these notes in the first octave could be questionable notes, maybe you're right and some of these notes are chest and countable, but personally i just count certain notes man, but i really doubt about this lows notes in first octave, me for example, i can sound like him in the "F1s" in There was a time using my fry register, the same with "G#1s" in Coma, and my lowest chest note is C2, and the most of times my lows ends around E2. Also in my opinion the most of the spoken notes that i've heard (from any singer, not neccesary Axl) aren't countables I'm the maker of video in my other count BTW
@HectrCheivzHy6 жыл бұрын
also, you said that he is baritone and eaisly he can hit F1 but obviusly the F1 is so difficult for a baritone, even or a bass singer isn't easy, and about the ranges of Corey and Mike is the same with Axl, Corey vocal range C1-C#7? nop his lowest chest is C2 and G5 is his highest coutable note for me, his rare whistle notes are bad and uncontrolled honestly, for me aren't countables, with Mike many of his lowest notes sounds fry or something like tht, Bb1 is his lowest certain note that i remember, but honestly with his range i don't know much
@user-eb8mi3xi5f6 жыл бұрын
Hectr Cheivz Hy That is very interesting. I don't have much musical knowledge, I think we should see singer's actual supported range, not squeezing or unproper way of singing -for example, whistle-in that way we can see how big someone's range is, vocal fry too. Also if we count all head and mixed voice. Though I don't see many male singers who can hit high notes with only pure chest voice. For example Brendon Urie, he uses his mixed voice(I would even say he abusing his mixed voice above B4). I said Axl may can hit F1 in chest voice, his low notes are not limited, he has a solid low notes already. To me he can support down to B1, so.. my meaning is maybe F1 too? Maybe not impossible talking to him. About Mike and Corey, I can't say more because as you can see all I know is little musical knowledge and I just saw their more bigger range(video out there-I don't think all notes are supported), any specific information is you may can find out-, but I can agreed Corey's painful?! high note. C7? Pure squeak. Needs more explanation. I am now think about how good their techniques are, in terms of resonation etc, I don't think lowering and raising larynx, vocal fry are good, clear thing is man's low notes are more flexible than female's. Axl's case I think he is a great baritone. Their high notes, their upper register is also not lacks, man, even female struggles and strains some of their high notes.
@user-eb8mi3xi5f6 жыл бұрын
Hectr Cheivz Hy And how do you think of Axl's 2 octaves notes? I always think his 2 octaves notes are superb, first octaves notes, in many ways from singers, not just from Axl, sound to me more like airy and throaty. Though Axl's B1 sounds not strained, I actually think that is impressive. Like you said, F1, questionable. He could improve but necessarily? He doesn't lacks in low notes. And are you baritone? I am pathetic contralto who strains at C#3, C3, my B3-E3 is comfort zone. D#3, D3, miss or hit but at my best condition I can pull out (not supported, though). My high notes, Axl can do better hahaha.

It does sound like Axl’s voice to me. What I believe you are hearing is a brief (fraction of a second) sample of Axl hitting a high note, played on a sampling keyboard with a delay effect.

Some say Bon Scott was the greatest rock n Roll singer of all time. He has nothing on Axl, and neither does anyone else. In his prime he was everything and more to hit those metrics. Most underrated lead vocalist, and band ever.

My favorite singer is Chris Cornell. I just prefer and love Cornell voice very much, but honestly I do believe that Axl Rose is the greatest singer in rock history- perfect pitch, almost a 6 octave vocal range, and the power of a jet engine.

"nope, not C#6/A6/B6 whatever" dude, they are clearly 6th octave. Like it's not even debatable. And even thought something might be overtones, they are clearly intentional and he was doing this all the time in his career, it wasn't a 1-off he did by accident once. When people look at bass singers (tim foust, geoff castelluci etc) we count subharmonic bass. We count the low 1st octave undertone they sing, even though the fundamental is a full octave above it. Why would we give controlled, sustained overtones any different treatment? I know whistle register and overtones are not the same thing but barring inhaled notes, no matter how you produce high 6th octave squeals, if they are consistent and distinguishable from the same notes in the 5th octave, they should absolutely be counted as such.

C1 is extremely low though, it's the lowest note I can produce at least but a C5 is freaking easy when u use mixed voice as a baritone. Tenors don't need it but we do.

All his fifth octave notes are both screamy and falsetto-y. I don't think his voice is as rich as a real high tenor (ie Bruno Mars) sounds in the higher octaves, but it's still really impressive. His voice is a light instrument, it's nowhere near as big, fat, deep, dark and heavy as Barry White's.
@JasminGardenia3 жыл бұрын
Hm ir just choose a lyric baritone with a huge range such as Dimash who has really full high notes (and goes up til C6 in mix, til F#6 in full head voice and D8 in his whistle register) 😊 and he has a great low range at the same time..
@rafaeljannotti3002 Жыл бұрын
His fifth octave notes arent usually falsetto tho, just very thin heady mix, but I noted that when he doesnt use raspy effect, his voice sounds less heady, take a listen at the "Prostitute" excerpt from this video, where he hit many D5s without rasp, he sounds even tenor-ish in that part
