I saw him at Hammerstein during this time. Izzy Cand out Sebastian Bach but only one night kid rock came out to sing night train. I was there. Il put his voice here against anytime in his life. This was right after mtv said he lost his voice. He is the greatest ever. Remember he did all this while running He is the greatest frontman ever. Greatest songwriter. Plus he lived the gimmick. He would go He said it how it was. Even when the original lineup got back in 2016 he still sounded amazing. I fully believe he can sound like that again I just think he needs to focus on it. Yes, Axl is a baritone, his chest voice (the voice we use to speak), breaks around D4 (D in the fourth octave), but he continues using a falsetto, the thing is that his falsetto is connected to the chest, using vocal fry. Sometimes he simply chooses to sound like this even in the lower notes, where he could simply use his chest voice (November rain first notes)... We can see similar technique in ACDC songs. He practiced a lot and of course he's pretty good at it and has a very good ear.

So I have an over 5 octave singing voice (C1- F6), and I just wanted to say that, (like u said) it isn't just range that makes this so impressive. The duration, the projection, the pitch, and especially how high he can go in chest voice. It's truly inhuman. Besides a few true freaks of nature like Georgia Brown, Dimash, Tim Storms, ect, there are few singers who I would say are truly 100% untouchable. Axel Rose is one of them. I love your channel because I like pushing my voice and with Kurt Cobain, Freddie Mercury, Layne Staley, and a lot of other vocalist feature on this channel, I feel like a lot of their stuff (not all) is at least attemptable. But Axel Rose is straight on another level. Axel Rose, Tom Jones, and Cab Calloway are have some of the hardest vocals for me personally, that I've encountered so far.

Wow!!!! I dont know if he had singing lessons at any time of his life. People say he didn't. I'm amateur singer. I'm mezzosoprano. This is the reason I understand the great talent Axl Rose has (or had) Let me explain something. 1. He had a perfect control of his diaphragm. 2. Excellent control of air flow. 3. Impostation of voice (lyric singing technique) 4. Excellent use of the "maschera" technique (head voice) 5. Unique use of the false (ventricular) vocal cords for the distortion vocal effect. 6. Baritone voice. But a baritone can reach very high and low notes. His range of voice was unbelievably wide. All these things I've just said explain his powerful voice and why he could sing a note for 15 seconds. Axl is/was unique!

Great that you provided some points. I completely agree with you even tho I just literally understand your bullets - not in technique matter since Im no musical Einstein genius😁 It's even unbelievable on how unique he was/is and ever will be - taking into account those songs that he wrote, pieces of piano that he created...

@@FinkShady Thanks! I'm not a musical genius either. 😀❤ I'm glad you agree with what I said. I suggest you to watch the video of Sweet child o'mine live in Paris in 1992. Afterwards, watch or listen to the tenor Alfredo Kraus singing the aria Nessun Dorma. You can't compare them because music styles are very different. However, you'll be able to notice the power of their voices and the long time they can be singing without breathing. The reason is the diaphragm support and airflow control. Freddie Mercury is considered a great voice (he is) but Axl was a lot more powerful. Just listen and tell me. Regards.

He was polarizing and deserved some of the criticism for late arrival to shows etc. He gets denigrated and disrespected constantly by people w an agenda based on behavior from 30yrs ago. He’s absolutely an icon and an American treasure. His talent should be celebrated not dismissed. I believe he’s this country’s greatest rock singer and frontman. From 1987-1993 he had no peers.
