Nice video 👍 great job i did this to my old Ford F250 i did not turn my center bolt around though next time i do anything there i will. One thing that happened was those tabs that go up in the axle spring perch i had to rotate my axle forward to match the original driveline angle it left a gap in those tabs in the back i did a hard pull and my axle rotated backwards it was sticking up and driveline rubbing my e brake cables . I had a welder weld that bracket around the axle tube so it never happens again .

No welding required, if your C notch kit you order is for the F Series frame it too has an option for the bolt in kit, I recommend watching my comparison video showing eBay vs bel tech and I prefer the eBay kit vs the more expensive brand, it allows you to use your own stock and stronger u bolts. 2 inch Shackles would be best option.. but if you can’t find any for your Frontier, you could look at a flip kit where it comes with or you can add one of those little block between the axle and leaf spring so it’s a little taller but if you load anything on your bed, flip kits reduced suspension travel..
@1194video2 жыл бұрын
I believe the rear end is u see the leafs on your truck, if you only want a few inches you could remove the front leaf spring hanger and spin it where the leaf is above the hanger rather than on the bottom But then you will have to make certain the rear end is centered before drilling new holes and bolting it back on….. but you could buy lift shackles and flip the rear end so that you can lower it by flipping the axle then the lift kit hangers could raise it to your desired height. You can pick up the flip spring pads at tractor supply if you use the stock u bolts.

Not at all but other things limit how much you can load. Like full size tires rubbing your fender or wheel well, frame slamming hard on axle when you go over a messed up road that bounces your truck up, or loading to capacity and causing your front end to raise up a little which could lead to handling problems especially in rain. I just ordered an Air Lift Air Bag kit for my 2012 f150 on a flip kit (not sure the exact drop measurement but it’s designed for up to 6” drop according to the description) to help load leveling and it helps me be able to load 2k lbs like as if i was at stock suspension.

@1194video Жыл бұрын
Cheapest is never Best But if you don’t care how bad it rides you could go to harbor freight and buy the axle purches that are same as flip for rear then take springs out and cut them lower but it will be a rougher ride in front for sure

I’m planning on getting a flip kit for my 2006 Chevy Silverado how low would it drop and would I need a c-notch ?
@1194video2 жыл бұрын
It’s about a 5” drop but if you add shackles it adds 2” to make 7” in rear, if you only do a flip kit and remove the bump stop that’s bolted to the frame you can get away without adding a notch but if you add any weight in the bed it will hit the frame over bumper occasionally
