I just did the same swap but a bit differently on my channel. Using the fourth GEN u bolts and spring plate was definitely the way to go. Overall was a very quick and easy swap. Only took about 10 hours. Thanks for the inspiration.

Nice Video man, I thought about doing this on one of my 2nd gen trucks, but ended up getting a front and rear Disk from an 02 for cheap. Gonna swap those diffs into my 97 12 Valve and do the front 3rd gen Pad and Rotors upgrade. Might have to Film it and put it on my Pathetic Channel.

I was thinking of doing the 3rd gen brakes up front too

@@fuelishgarage6587 I am pretty sure if your truck is older then 2000 you can't. Have to have the dual piston calipers to begin with to do the 3rd gen stuff. That's why I am getting rid of the 97 stuff and the pressed in rotors garbage. Alot easier to do brake jobs.

@@fuelishgarage6587 I have heard of guys putting in Front 3rd Gen Diffs. One guy on the forums said it bolts right up but can't confirm or deny it.

The speed sensor in the rear end is for the abs. The Speedo gets its signal from the trans or the t case if it’s 4wd.
