You guys should use a Lino roller to pull out the carpet as I used to do a lot of federal buildings with 365 foot long hallways, and or for the carpet half 6 foot and rolled out and shifted over. I’m sure you like the way you do it and whatever to each its own but the roller will make your life easy.

What kind of installation it’s that’s ? How could be ripped up the carpet and glue when client wants to replace that carpet ? Glued spreaded at whole floor besides glue over the whole padding .. that it’s not the right installation …where it’s the tacks strips? There are only 2 ways to don this installation: Only glue down carpet.. tacks strips and padding..

This is woven carpet. I do not recommend stretching woven carpet because it does not stretch very well. It’s much better to glue it down. Se the manufacturers installation instructions.

depends on what part of the country you live and your market. our market has high labor costs. for these corridors and all the doorways and insets I would charge about $2 per square foot + materials

Wow Al you on here saying professional. And 2 bucks a square foot? You better look that up because I'm one of 2 installers where I live that Thai ping will only release the carpet if they know I'm installing it and no other installer is allowed to touch it. I get 20.00 a yard . DNT believe me look up the rate for installation nationwide or just call Ron at Thai ping. Second you never ever roll on pressure sensitive glue for the pad. And most importantly you shouldn't even use it. A lot of failures. Your taking a carpet that averages 80 to 130.00 a square yard, and you're waiting for a failure to happen. The manufacturer doesn't recommend this procedure any more. Second you laddered the pad and pulled the carpet against the pad seams. Very easy to loosen the edges and you'll end up with more bubbles than what your already gonna have from not using regular glue with an rca carpet notch and a top quality glue. Also when you used the seam sealer, you can take isopropyl rubbing alcohol on the wet sealer and it dries it immediately. No waiting. For the sealer to dry. It dries instantly. I've been doing patterns from Thai ping, axminster before they went out of business and where tookin over for 38 years and have done everything from just stairs to casinos with axminster and can't believe you rolled on pressure sensitive glue. Remember, the back of the pad is porus and regular glue penetrates it. Sorry but that kind of install is set up for failure. I seen it 1000 times. Hence why they do not recommend pressure sensitive at all anymore.

Your criticism lacks credibility. I’ve installed multiple hotel corridors with woven wool carpets using this exact technique and have had no failures. This particular job is 8 years old and it looks as nice as the day we installed it. By the way $2 per square foot equals $18 per square yard. It seems from your comment that you couldn’t figure that out.

Lacks credibility you say? Hmm ..by my comment and education on what I spelled out in my comment has alot of credibility. Failures..I've had to go to my local casinos to do major repairs because of pressure sensitive ...bubbles everywhere. I'll give you credit because everything else you're doing is spot on.
