I do want to add an interesting fact, if an axolotl has some tiger salamander blood, and is injected with iodine, AND has an enclosure that is suitable to an adult salamander, it may undergo metamorphosis, however this is VERY risky, and often kills the axolotle. Also since their skin is made of cells the act like STEM cells, an axolotl can regrow limbs, take better to surgery, and once even supported another axolotls (live) head added via surgery. Definitely one of the coolest animals in my book

Awesome video. Ignore the E.S. stuff. People are gonna be obsessed at first, but eventually they'll appreciate your channel for what it is, and that it stands alone. Keep it up man. The lighting in this was so good.

Are they cheap in maintenance? How much will they cost per month?
@RadiantReptilia5 жыл бұрын
Probably the largest investment is when you first get them, as you will need enclosure, water chiller, and possibly water testing kits. Month to month costs will not be high financially, mostly just food. However, the time required to properly care for them is significantly more than similarly sized reptiles.
@FreshwaterIchthyology5 жыл бұрын
I find their popularity concerning based on the fact most people buy them quickly get bored due to their inactivity. Axolotls still go through metamorphosis, technically all animals do to some form. But they technically display neoteny developing sexual maturity in a larval form, humans also display neoteny in the form of the large head and shorter limbs compared to more basal primates.

@@RadiantReptilia but Ethan, everyone wants all the details of your personal life. Didn't you know that this is the internet, where if a scandal isn't handed to the people, the people will manufacture one? Kick down with a juicy story or people are going to headcanon some really intense shit. Because your life is their business. Didn't you have to sign the waiver removing every right to any kind of privacy when you uploaded your first video?

@@RadiantReptilia I'm glad to hear Woobeewoo isn't one of the animals you demanded in the split. I'm not going to troll you or give you a hard time. I am going to state that unless there was a SIGNIFICANT misrepresentation of what happened you lack character & ethics. I genuinely hope an animal isn't denied cared it needs because you make a poor business decision & a bad judgment call again, but this time there's no business partner to cover the expense out of his own pocket This all makes me seriously sad dude

I had no reason to even ask for Alex’s personal pets. They were never Emerald Scales Assets, and I wasn’t trying to rob anyone. I’ll respond to Alex’s video in detail at a later date, but to put it simply, I don’t feel like it had very many misrepresentations, but I do feel as though people are responding to it wrongly. Again though, I’ll explain my thoughts at a later date. Please stick around to hear me out!
@rocki_bb4 жыл бұрын
@@RadiantReptilia I'm sorry if my comment implied I thought you would rob him. It's hard to track all the animals that are personal pets vs which are long rehabs in several videos vs animals bought for breeding projects by the business & such I've been considering beginning to breed axolotls, so this hit me in the feels when I thought it might be Woobee. I'm not trying to be rude or nasty. I'm just incredibly sad by this all. I was rooting for both of you and it feels dirty to me. I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I hope people share their opinions respectfully even if they have strong feelings ❤

Love the music choice, and transitions! If the axolotl does metamorphosis, does it look exactly like how it does right now, without the gills, and tail?

The whole bone structure changes a little. They look almost exactly like tiger salamanders with no patterns.
