Quick note for people watching. I am SO SORRY about the audio balance in this video. I have no idea how I screwed it up this awfully. I'm going over my project now and the music there is balanced correctly, very low almost muted, but on export it's extremely loud?? I'm not sure what went wrong but I will fix it for my next video. Apologies to everyone and my eternal thanks to those who actually sat through this to still watch. You really didn't have to do that, and I wouldn't blame you one bit! Until the next vid!

audio balancing issues aside, this video is extremely well put together, to the point i was surprised to see that you're BELOW 1k subs. fantastic job, i am excited to see what else you put out! :)

Good video overall! As someone who watches an unnecessary amount of (mainly tech) KZbin, it's nice to see something new. My only thoughts to improve things is regarding audio. The sync seemed slightly out (even though I'm on wire headphones), and I think the background music is slightly too loud in relation to your speech.

Yes you're right! Something absolutely horrid went wrong and I'm trying to figure it out. This is the part of making videos I struggle with. I keep thinking that I'm making progress from vid to vid, but then I go and do something stupid and screw everything up again 😭. Next vid I should have this mixing crap down to a science. dude this was a fantastic video! loved the opening. AYA Neo really took such a shotgun approach to releasing handhelds, it's actually insane. in the amount of time that the original Steam Deck to the Steam Deck OLED release, AYA Neo had already released like 20 different handhelds. I think it also really shows that Valve took a very smart approach when it came to the Steam Deck. Going with a custom lower end chip that maximizes on efficiency is the better approach from an actual handheld gaming perspective. all these other handhelds run on either Z1 extreme or 7840U equivalents. Dont get me wrong, they are amazing in terms of pure raw performance, but their low TDP performance just falls apart so quickly on them. when 15W is already starving the chip, trying to get even close to 10W is just a disaster. I really wish AMD would take the handheld market more seriously and actually release a widely available chip that is a real competitor to the Deck's APU. AMD has all the lego pieces there to make something very interesting. These chips are so iGPU limited that the CPU is rarely ever going to be a bottleneck. I would rather AMD use 6-8 Zen4c cores, 8 RDNA3.5 GPU cores, and if they're based enough, add support for LPCAMM2. I think 15W at a maximum should be the target for these handhelds. Competing with Valve on value is impossible anyway since no one else has Steam to subsidize the device, so competing on performance is the only real option left for anyone not named Sony, Nintendo or Microsoft. Getting as much performance as possible at 15W should be the main priority, not just juicing up the TDP and calling it a day. I really enjoy my ROG Ally, but the battery life is just so abysmal if I want to play anything besides stardew or balatro. it just feels kinda silly to have a 1080p 120hz display when you have to run games at extremely low settings and FPS just to get it to last you longer while using the 15W or 10W TDP setting. It's a shame that rumors are that the next gen of the Z series is going to be one new top end chip, and just a rebadged Z1 Extreme as Z2 and the 6800U as a Z2G. on the plus side, the awful Z1 is gonna be dead and buried. Oh I also love how you matched the shirt with the Slide 😂

Well said Evo! I've always been an advocate for bespoke design with silicon. The more purpose-built chips we have for this niche, the better off we are with performance and efficiency. You see Valve is smart, wait until that jump in performance and power efficiency is there. Why rush out a new unit if you can squeeze out every last bit of performance of your current lineup? The next killer handheld should definitively be some 6 core, and 16cu device with exceptional scaling below and up to 15W. I'm with you. 15W should be where all these companies design their max around. Why do you need a 28W monster in your hands?? It's not a Dyson star lol. Alos thanks for noticing my shirt! It's one of my favorite bowling shirts!

I do like the opening segment. Even if I didn't watch Seinfeld myself I do get the vibe just from that. When it comes to the specs I would assume having more than 16 gigs would be incredibly useful right? I am thinking of going igpu for my next laptop and 24 is as low as I will go

Do not get any device with less than 24GB. In fact? I'd recommend just going for 32 because you never know. Another company could decide to partition off 8GB of your 24, so then you're stuck with only 16GB of system ram. Just play it safe man.

@SiliconFox-s8d I only say 24 because Asus made a stex point laptop which is pretty cool and it comes with exactly 24 gigs, no more, no less. I will otherwise go for the 32.
