What Sakayanagi means by calling ayanokoji "false genius" is that according to her ayanokoji falls into the category of "hard worker" not born genius but its somewhat wrong because according to LN , ayanokoji is both born genius and hard worker.

Just a fun fact: The monologue Kiyotaka has about Kei at the end of this Episode was taken from Volume 7, which should've been placed in last week's Episode, as he has an entirely different monologue at the epilogue of Volume 7.5 which this Episode is an adaptation of. His monologue that got replaced was about how Kei has become the person he has become closest to throughout his time at the Advanced Nurturing School, and how he hopes that, should he aim on ascending to Class A, the two of them could become genuine friends, and perhaps something more than that. Before this, they had a discussion with Manabu and Kiriyama, the vice President of the Student Council, where he called Kei his partner since she was present during that.

I knew I recognized the way he monologue about Kei, I agree with everything that was said he called her his partner and she was shocked when he referred to her as such, but in the a way COTE knows best they indeed made him seem like a monster to close out the second season just like the first season. They changed tone of it in adaptation, but still it’s very important point that Kei became first, if not only person(even in LN) really close to Ayano. His kinda dismissive tone grows from fact that he will do anything that is necessary regardless of others people feelings and from his poor understanding of own emotions at this point. Don’t forget, his main target for whole time remains to be “Experience normal life and youth”, even in all perpetual turmoil which this school and his father provide. When many strife to become #1 and be special, he’s already there and he wants to experience and learn everything that normal person in normal society don’t even think of as special. This motivation goes even before his “research” on how different and unique talents can be developed outside of white room.

Idk if you noticed but Ryuen rebuilt himself to a stronger version. Someone wouldn't be standing with such confidence in front of an opponent who gave them such a hard beating. Also, Ryuen didn't want to drop out because he got scared of Ayanokouji but because he thought his worth as the leader is no more.. But, after we see him talking to Ayanokouji, we can consider that he will come back stronger after beating class A and B (unless he drops out)

Also the scene with Sakayanagi was supposed to be after Ayanokouji and Manabu Race each other. This gave a more meaningful and exiting re union between Sakayanagi and Ayanokouji as Ayanokouji didn't know who Sakayanagi's father was and how she knew him

Ryuen style of being a Dicator leader using violence and intimidation as his main tool is becoming a more subtile, intelligent and calm way to do things whit a more “cooperative” way of work, whit his own class and the class D (or I think that’s what is going to happens) since what we hear from Ibuki (the stronger is the one who stands at the end no matter how many times they try) can change into “the strongest is the one who get along whit the strongest” and the way that he speaks whit Kiyotaka can be translate as: I’ll continue to be leader of my class, but don’t using violence anymore and cooperate whit you and class D to ascend to the top. But of course Kiyotaka makes clear he only wants to expelled Kushida and help Zuzune to get into the council but I suspect that the condition to get into the council will be being part of class A, so his target will be also reach A even he doesn’t want to. Man, it is crazy when you realize that from the very first moment Kiyotaka sees someone, he analyzes him or her and decide how important he could be to achieve his target and how important it is to have it in the game and the position he is on. He needs a leader to control the hole class D (Zuzune, Hirata and Kei) and other to control the whole class C (Ryuen) and have all pieces in place and order

Good episode, but in LN Kiyotaka and Kei's parts are filled with romantic and refreshing scenes, but the studio turned it bad as if Kiyotaka was just using Kei. I think they want to make the ending like the first season (a tool monologue). But yknow, actually Kiyotaka wasn't that evil, at that moment he wanted to feel emotions with Kei as his partner, and said Kei would be an important figure for him in the future. But still peak episode! Also, i really like the fact that Ryuen is trying to get himself drop out and doesn't want to involve the others (Ishizaki, Albert, and Ibuki). Ryuen is a dictator, but he always prioritizes his class. That's why he's the best villain in the series! So excited for season 3!!!

🔥Can't wait for next season👏👏👏 A little info, They change the meeting between Kiyotaka and Arisu a little in the anime.(they also cut some dialogue). In LN Arisu first interaction with Kiyotaka was after the sport festival so we had no idea of her father know about White room and stuff. She said “It’s been quite a long time, Ayanokouji-kun. Eight years and 243 days, actually.” so I'm like what? She came out of nowhere and she also know about the white room so it was super hype at that time but I guess anime wanted change to make a cliffhanger for the next season. Arisu called Kiyotaka false genius because the white room is where they artificially create genius from a young age by doing human experiments and she believes that people with natural superior DNA intelligence can suppress the artificially created ones.

The missing monologue about what he thinks/feels about with Kei (Episode 13) Notice: Spoilers as the source came form the LN as well So here the line from the LN that explains more about his relationship with Kei, this line came from Y1 VOL 7.5 "In this one year, looking back the one I've gotten the closest to may be Kei who's behind me. This is likely something Kei herself also feels. Before I realized it, she had sublimed into an essential existence for me. It's just, from now on, if I can aim for Class A and sever my connection with the student council, at that time we could be friends.......no, I feel like it could change into something beyond that. -Kiyotaka's inner monologue Yes this line here is a more detailed line that the anime which is more detailed and better. Honestly at this point I feel like we shouldn't compare the anime with the light novels. In the anime Ayanokoji acts completely evil and emotionless while in the light novels he does clearly have emotions but doesn't let it out. I'm sure many people have pointed this out already, but in the light novels, his inner monologue about Kei more about trying to escape the white room mindset and try to actually form a relationship rather than "I've acquired a great pawn".

Something to mention is that Ayanokoji is wrong. Originally, his monologue was after Ryuuen’s fight, not the date. But, he’s wrong. Kei’s monologue stated that she wasn’t doing it for him. She finally removed her shackle of being a parasite and didn’t say the name to stand her ground. Ayanokoji however misinterpreted it as her becoming more dependent on him.

Give you some more information about Ryuen that they skip in this episode. Ryuen actually did care about his subordinates, he bore all the penalties and avoided his subordinates dropping out of the school. Also, in the scene when Ryuen gives his phone to Ibuki, Ibuki saw the plans on his phone that Ryuen is planning to get 800 million private points, originally in the LN, there are 40 students in each class and to get into the class you want needs 20 million private points, so this is the reason why Ryuen is so obsessed to get a lot of private points, to get all students in class C to class A. When he talks to Ayanokoji on Christmas Eve, Ayanokoji actually mentioned that if both of them combined their force Ryuen's plan may actually work. Ryuen is really a good tyrant and a very interesting character. 🥰 Besides, the author had already announced that in this series, there will not have heroine, all female characters are equally important. Also, the author had already said that Ayanokoji will remain cold-blooded and see others as tools until the series' end. I would suggest reading the LN, at least up until vol 7.5 where Season 1 and 2 covers. It will give you a better understanding of Ayanokoji's character. There are a lot of cut scenes which is obvious because the anime can only squeeze in 20mins of content. I assure you you'll enjoy reading (coming from someone who hates to read). I think they portray Kiyopon edgy in Anime to at least have anime-only give the LN a chance to read. The LN is just masterpiece!

So what to expect in Season 3? I will just give minor spoilers for the upcoming arcs in Season 3 . . . . . . . The first arc will be Volume 8 in the novel. Here we'll see the rivalry between Horikita Manabu (The former Student Council President) and Nagumo Miyabi, the blond guy who was the current SCP. Nagumo is a Second Year student from Class 2A and there's no one in his School Year who can be his opponent that's why he's going for Manabu as he wanted to surpass him. You could say that he's the undefeated tyrant of the 2nd Year. He will also target Ayanokoji coz he also notices that his Manabu Senpai took an interest to Ayanokoji instead of him. We'll also see Sakayanagi Arisu finally making her moves as she will targets Ichinose and Class B. Here we'll know Ichinose's past and how she got that many points. And for the final arc, as you can see in the last scene, it will be Ayanokoji VS Arisu. Arisu is the only student who knows Ayanokoji's past. A natural born genius unlike Ayanokoji who was made to be genius. Nature vs Nurture. So who do you think will going to win? I cant wait for the next season.

About the one with Sato in anime isn't done correctly at ALL. In LN he's said that he genuinely enjoyed the double date and that she's a great person. And IF not for the Student Council (his promise) and his Father(targeting him) his answer may have been different. Ayanokoji in anime is done like a mf edgelord. In Light Novel he's a more normal guy, who's had complex and terrible past that he can't escape but he WANTS to.
