Actually, you miss some scary things about Ayanokoji. During his meeting with the teacher, he said that a fun show is happening on the rooftop, which is Ryuen torturing Kei. This cold-blooded Ayanokoji actually scares me. Also, in the LN, Ayanokoji and the teacher having chit-chat in the classroom, and wait for Kei being tortured for about 30mins. The teacher wants to save Kei but Ayanokoji stops her and he said just wait as long as possible. After saving Kei, Ayanokoji thinks that if Kei said his name to Ryuen, she may feel guilty and helps him again, but he will just see her as a less valuable tool. If Kei doesn't say his name, he will see Kei as a valuable tool. Even though Ayanokoji is such a scary person, he still is my favorite character in this series, along with Kei and Ryuen, hope they don't cut out the dialogue about Ryuen after he was beaten up by Ayanokoji which makes him a meaningful and interesting character, this dialogue is also why so much LN readers like him so much. 💗

For someone who only watch from anime, i say damn that is scary... The look on ryuen face too, its only natural to hesitate for some when knowing our action/choice can not only possibly cause harm to others but worse, n the way ayanokoji's react i think ryuen realize he cant bring those fear to ayanokoji who unlike him that seem to reject the fear, ayanokoji recognize it exists but simply couldn't care less about it... In the LN, the author explained that Ayanokoji contradicts himself in this situation because he claimed that he doesn’t care abt what happen to Kei anymore since he gain no benefits from saving her. But for some reason he did come to rescue her. They didn’t include his monologue where he stated that “whether she is useful or not is a secondary concern. it’s best for me to take possession of her” which explain why he made use of Ryuuen to break Kei since it’s the only way to keep his relationship with Kei going on.

They also changed what he thinks about kei and what he said to kei. Safe to say LN and anime aren't that similar anymore. Anime has had a lot of changed scenes so it will have a slightly different story from the LN.

In the LN, Ayanokouji did really hold back just like what he did in the anime, but facing Albert because of his build up body and how he knows Ryuuen doesn't even stand a chance against him, he putted a little of his strength on beating him up, in Ryuuen's case, he was like really holding back of to him, and how he saw him being used on some survival fights. So in order to do that, he tends to give him a lesson about "FEAR" that he never felt, and there we go he literally saw it on Ayanokouji.

Something that is important to know, Ayanokouji does have emotions, he can love, hate, etc. but he makes decisions based on facts and probabilities, he doesn't make decisions based on emotions or feelings, if Ayanokouji loves someone, if he thinks that the best decision is to "sacrifice" that person he will do it (I'm just putting an example) obviously he will feel guilty but he knows that otherwise it would not have been possible to achieve his goal.

@@limjessie3213I think the guy up there is right. Cause HEAVY SPOILER In the future, Airi will have to leave school because of a vote test, and Kiyotaka actually felt regret. He said to Chabashira that if there's another way to do it without expelling Airi Sakura, then he will follow it, and he truely cares for Airi, to the point that he himself went and have a goodbye talk with Airi. Airi Sakura is by far the only one Ayanokouji doesn't consider to be a tool, even when they first met. Even with Kei, at first he still sees her as a tool, but he cares for Airi without condition (Not love). And about this scene with Kei, actually in the LN, he and Chabashira stood and watched Kei being bullied for half an hour, and Chabashira wanted to save her, but he stopped and said that if she speaks his name to Ryuuen, then she's just a useless tools, but she didn't, so he considered her useful and saved her.

@@mampici4514 thats not plausible enough of a counterargumen imo.. Ryuen is the antagonist as well as an already notorious character, they can go ham with him however they like. Ayanokoji is a protagonist, meaning people are gonna associate with him way more sensitively. They probably deemed it too risky for its worth for ayanokoji to uninhibitedly beat a girl that hard, playing it safe for the audiences so to speak. In other animes, you sometimes see people saying they "got turn off by the mc", rarely would you ever hear them being "turn off by the antagonist"

Obeying Ryuen may be the easier way to end all the torture, but that aint it girl. Nah, Ayano hands are rated E for everyone, in the light novel he did hit Ibuki with the same strength as the first guy, probably even more times. He only got serious with Albert. One thing that was cut is that none of Ryuen goons wanted to be there, just like Ibuki.
