Well, ayano did change her, & suzune also changed him, infact she's the only one that eventually bring color to ayano's life (up until now)

@@glitchmo1372you do realise that Manabu said his sister was doing everything that he was, copying his every action he did in life. Imagine that happening for couple of years. It for sure would be annoying asf if your own sibling won't see you as nothing more as a goal to overcome. Not only that but she followed him when he told her he don't wish to speak with her also adding all that frustration not only that but the emberresmant she caused him by being in D class as he was on top in the school. As Manabu said he knew he did was wrong and he is not perfect but most people is beating their siblings for small shit in comparison. I personally can see why he did that. Suzune was annoying asf and kinda had it comming. And he is my second fav after Koji.

Spoiler It's complicated he starts a relationship with Kei after this to learn about it, but he doesn't feel anything for her at all, he uses her as a manual, but recently with Suzune he genuinely smiles at her and wants to speak with her about anything non school related and expend time with her, also Suzune has change a lot she is awesome It's quite important the Smile cause unlike other times this was his first genuinely smile in his whole life ans he didn't even understand why it happened with Suzune, and no Kei or Hirata who he is closer, he described the moment as If his whole life had color for an instance

I believe this was a manabu move. example: I go up to someone and say, .....do you see that plate of food? Well, it's delicious and I think you'd really like it, but I'm sure you wouldn't be able to eat it. this instigates a person, and that's what the manabu did, he threw the bait and pulled it back, at the moment he said" but I really can't see this happening" Manabu has IQ and knows how to manipulate too. This makes our unconscious create a slight interest in what is difficult and prohibited.

@glitchmo1372 you have to remember this is in Japan where family interactions are significantly different than family interactions in western countries (especially the USA). A big brother hitting their younger siblings as a form of discipline or corrective action is pretty common. Again think of and research the cultural differences between Japan and Western nations in regards to how families treat each other.
