We're now in 2.6!! Something I wanted to share, after binging all of your videos at this version. I actually took the time to immerse myself more with the story and it made me appreciate it a lot. I was so invested with the story that I made that how I want to do future quests. You made playing Genshin even more fun.

I know a lot of people complained that this quest was “boring” because it was politics heavy but to me it’s still one of my favourite Inazuma quests. It really spoke to the culture of the nation and let us glimpse some of the inner workings of the tri-commission system and the clan conflicts that seem rampant beneath the gleaming surface of each commission or seat of power below the Shogun. It’s just so interesting, I loved Ayato’s role in things as well.

yess! it enhanced the world building, if nothing else. the point of a story quest is to get to know that character better, and there was no better way to get to know ayato better than seeing what his work looks like.

The funny part about the drinking animation is that the bubble tea is still half full, so it shouldn't sound like he's drinking it on empty.

Shinnojou having a crush on Lady Chisato was so real. Ayato's SQ wasn't well liked because it was mostly "NPC" even tho it showcased how Ayato went about things...aaand politics as you said ahaha I so love the fact that Ayato always bring Thoma food...whether it's good or not 🤣 I'm in shambles cuz I already think of Alhaitham + Kaveh 24/7 and seeing the add-on of Thoma and Ayato in the end reminded me of them 😭I love the time capsule so much TuT

Rewatching the story/archon quest and with your knowledge about the lore is a lot more fun and interesting to learn that I have missed and couldn't understand and you always make it more fun. I couldn't wait to watch your Irodori Festival and the Chasm next, it's the only story I missed to watch in your stream

I love smart characters so much, and quests like this one allow them to shine. Ayato's plan and Matsuura's apology give such kind of joy that no battle event can provide. Also can't wait to see Irodori festival and the Test of Courage event where he (and Yae Miko) works from the shadows and does it brilliantly.

Honestly, the one thing I regret about 2.6-2.7 is quitting Genshin for some time (about 3 months?). I got my Ayato at 30th of March, started a bit of Irodori Festival, and quit because of a burn-out and the unfamiliarity of The Chasm. Missed all the character interactions I'd been waiting for a long time, and then also missed the Perilous Trail event in 2.7 (and the pretty free 4* bow along with it). Missed the memeable Ayaka banner, missed getting Kuki Shinobu on Itto's banner, and some more of the cool stuff. What made me go back to Genshin with a returned passion and love, was actually your playthrough content. By the end of 2.7 I'd watched every VOD you uploaded, and your way of playing the game made me feel understood. I've always been a nerd at school, and I set a goal to focus on every bit of lore existing in Genshin the first time I started playing. So, seeing a content creator sharing my passion for lore of this game, it felt.. refreshing, and honestly simply amazing. So, I got back from my Genshin-break on the first day of 2.8, and I haven't felt better ever since. So, really, thank you Arnold. Will be waiting for the Irodori Festival playthrough now!! :D

I honestly forgot Ayato showed up so late into Inazuma’s run. 2.6? Sheeeesh. I remember feeling how he was the “missing piece” in Inazuma for me. As you said, his trailer was a retcon but that also doesn’t mean it wasn’t planned that way from the beginning. This quest did Ayato a lot of justice. It was very similar to Venti's quest imo. Where we spent so much time with Stanley (Hiiragi Chisato) and then realize at the end that most if not all of it applied to Venti (Ayato) as well. And this also shows how deft Ayato is at navigating tricommission affairs too!

@Hesketh32 this was commented a while ago. The intention was not to risregard the value of the story just because it wasn't presented in what felt like the best way. Whether it was technically, actually a retcon doesn't matter very much. That was the point of my comment.

I really liked this quest, but I *love* politics in my fiction 😂Also Chisato grew to be one of my fav Inazuma NPCs over time, I did get invested in her love story with Kamaji so was really happy to see more with them.

The milk part of this quest was much less creepy and more "ew seaweed milk?!" when I played, as I was blissfully unaware of the children souls aspect.

I remember people trashing his quest at the time cuz it was "boring. Meanwhile, I was confused by their reaction cuz this quest let us see how Ayato does his job. It was very interesting, but the unga bunga brains thought it was boring cuz "not enough combat."

It's because of those people that I am against a skip button. They will finish the entire game not knowing who Furina really is.

I don't know why but watching you play the quests is a lot more interesting than playing it myself. I just skip through most of the dialogues if I was playing.

He actually does have reactions for most of those, just they went up on yt shortly after those trailers went live. They just aren't also part of the time capsule playlist. I recommend double checking the gi trailer reaction playlist

Honestly biggest problem is that Kujo are still not replaced. The moment they would guy can *marry in* the girls family without political overcomplications (complications would still be plenty). And he's fit right fine as Trade commissioner, despite not being good fit for Military one even without "family committed treason" thing.
