Guild Wars 2 - How to get a Jackal Mount

Just to let everyone know (as of today 3/22/22) you have to have mastered the Skimmer or Springer mounts before you can do the challenge to get a Jackal. This particular guide didn't mention that (that I saw or heard) so I just thought I'd throw it out here for anyone else.

@Wow Gaming last I played, you had to complete the first 3 masteries for either skimmer or jackal.

if anyone is doing this in the future I think the heart just bugs out, i just did it with only 3 masteries on both the skimmer and springer, when i got there the heart wasn't showing up so i logged out and back in and it teleported me to the start of the zone and the heart was there.

Watched several of these videos, while yours is very good NOBODY ever mentions you need MASTERY of either the Springer or Skimmer BEFORE you can attempt the Jackel.

You cannot get there with base Springer or Skimmer? I rushed through Desolation to Jackal before getting mastery of either of those up, quite sure hmmm

@@AyinMaiden TY for reply. I can assure you the reason I posted was I was standing at the Heart for the Jackel and was knocked back cos I did not have mastery of either Springer or Skimmer. It is indeed possible to get there without a mastery but clearly useless to do so.

master the 3rd level of the skimmer and you can fly across and then hit space bar and cruise up to the platform and ride the shifting sands up... hardest part of getting jackal isn't getting to the tower..... it's getting through the mobs to get to the sulfur bed where the tower awaits you to ascend....... i found my way to joko's domain and it was a lot easier as it is to the east of the tower

Or just use skimmer up half way then dismount it will boost you up =)))

It's 20g if you buy it the same day. it goes up to 30 if you buy it after 24 hours.

you need to master either skimmer or springer before they let even do the heart. i couldnt figure out why i couldnt see it. got uip there . denied.

You need to have skimmer & springer first? That couldnt be it coz my friend Shoji has a Jackal but he doesnt have a Skimmer lol

He said either or, not both. And yes, you still need the gold because the heart only unlocks the merchant which then allows you to buy the mount

Do you "need" the skimmer? Or are you saying you "want" the skimmer because of how far away the location is?

The jackals won't bother with an inexperienced trainer. Master riding a springer or skimmer before trying to shape a chaotic force, hm?

I just copy and paste what NPC says when I click 'borrow' on jackal. I believe it;s because Anet update around 24 hrs ago. On this video we can see vendor heart, but not after the update (if you haven't mastered a springer or skimmer?). Anyway...I love all your GW2 videos

You can go whenever, there's no pre-requisite :) I skipped all the Elon Riverlands and Desolation events/quests to get there xD

For mounts you mean? Get Canyon Jumping first (Raptor Mastery 3) coz u need that to get the Springer and Skimmer. Then Springer 3 coz that is so helpful to get around :)

Hey Ayin in the video text and info box it says 30g 40s, but when you complete the heart it actually costs 20g (I already had it and recall only spending 20g on it too). Any reason for that, os is it a mistake? Thanks for the videos :)

Yeah, so in 3:13 you open the heart vendor to buy and it shows 20g + 200 contracts :)
