Here I am with another Chrono Trigger cover! The idea for this one came up suddenly right after I posted my last one. I realized it sounded really cool to play the original brass part as the rhythm part, with the A pedal tone underneath and the high B and E strings ringing out throughout all the chords. From that point on it was really easy to arrange this one. It also ended up becoming a pretty short cover for me, at just under 3 minutes long!
I recorded a video performance for this video like I usually do, since I cleared out my space more and unpacked my tripod and lights finally. So far I like the angles I'm using, pretty much just trying to emulate what I had going on before at my previous apartment. I don't have 4 walls this time in my music space though, so I have less corners to shoot in.
I also submitted this video to this month's Pixel Mixers contest, since the current theme is First Games, and since Chrono Trigger was close one of the first games I ever played, it fits the theme! I probably could have done something from Super Mario Allstars, Mario World, Sonic 2, or DKC, but since I got the idea for this one and I was really excited about it, it felt right to do this one.
Hope you enjoy my proggy take on Ayla's Theme! I will hopefully end up doing more Chrono Trigger covers this year, as I feel I've really been avoiding doing them up until now (the last one I did before Millennial Fair earlier this month was A Strange Happening in summer of 2021).
