Nelson, Joe 'King' Oliver's nephew, played with the great jazzers of his time. This band is an all-star unit. Bass Marrero was one of the brothers of famed banjoist Lawrence Marrero, he often played with Oscar Celestin. Glyn Paque played with J.R. Morton, King Oliver, Willie Bryant, and Benny Carter, later pursued a career in my Switzerland, where he is buried. He impressed by his circular breathing. Wilbur de Paris played with his brother Sidney, with Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, to name just a few. Wayman Carver was a member of the famous Chick Webb band, where he sometimes played flute. Later he worked in Atlanta as professor for music. Buster Bailey's musical merits are to numerous to be enlisted here - he is one of the foremost New Orleans clarinetists of all time.
