I grew up on this stuff including John Mayall , Fleet Wood Mac , Savoy Brown T,S, Mcphee and I always return to it . The blues always settled my mind and granted me peace . The Beatles and The Herman Hermits always got the chicks but the blues got my soul !

If anyone wants to get in touch with J Morshead, he turned 70 a few weeks back and lives in Southern Ireland. He still plays now and again quietly... Known him 20 years. If you want to get in touch, let me know.

Well, tell him he should be much better known. His playing here is very tasteful. A shout out in the letters section of the most recent Guitarist magazine should help lead a few people to these videos.

I saw these guys live a couple of times around '69 with the impeccable Tommy Eyre. They were a formidable live act...powerful, earthy blues at its best. Jimi Hendrix rated them highly and went out of his way to jam with them. Sadly, no live material is available. I heard that their set at the Fillmore was was recorded by Bill Graham but eventually erased because their tight fisted manager didn't want to pay for the tapes.

How many bands do you know that have a trumpet player that plays keyboard and also sings ? Fantastic

Love the piece of wire between the treble side tailpiece stud and the Bigsby on Morshead's 335 for earthing the strings! I don't recall the Bigsby when I saw Morshead playing this guitar but I'm pretty sure no one would have fitted a Bigsby in 1968! Everyone would have been taking them off if possible.
