Can we take a moment to appreciate the plot of the whole song, it's so well thought off and executed. I'm surprised I find no comments which refer to the time period which is referenced, 1964. The letter he receives at the end, one year later, which says "Hope, all is fine" and right then alarms starts blaring and all lights are shut off which just might signify approaching aerial attacks during 1965 Indo-Pak war.
