I think I speak for all my fellow Juggalos when I say you got our best wishes and thanks for not only all your husband did, but what you continue to do, I know it can be really difficult and scary even just caring for people who have gone through trauma, sometimes you wonder if anything your doing actually has an impact because the trauma overshadows it and makes everything you do and say to help seem so miniscule, but it really adds up in the long run

to me it's sad because of how quickly it's forgotten due to the fact we are living in an age where civil unrest is at it's peak and so many horrible things happen on a weekly basis that it's becoming more desensitizing when it happens so people don't react as strongly as they should, not to mention we sadly live in an era where sub-human filth like Alex Jones exist (I'm sorry but if you think all these shootings happening lately are "false flags" and use other people's suffering to spread your conspiracy theories you aren't worthy of being called human to me since you lack the basic human trait of empathy, especially when the conspiracies are about the DEATHS OF CHILDREN) who will always care more about their profits than actual lives, what pisses me off more about these tragedies is that the families of the victims may never see justice done or, in the case of said filth mentioned above, not even being able to get compensation for the lies and slander someone spread about them because of the filth's greed, after he knew he was going to lose in the lawsuit against him for the shit he said about Sandy Hook he froze his bank accounts so he didn't have to pay out and it was totally allowed to happen so they saw nothing from that and were actually in the hole after their own lawyer fees from my understanding of what happened during that trial

May those children... those children who will never have a first kiss, those children who will never have their own children, their own job(s), their own life, was taken away for an unknown messed up reason. One of the deputies (i believe) there, he lost his own daughter. It's hard to think about, but that could've been anyone. If it were years back, that could've been you, they could've chosen another school, or a workplace, or even a shelter for people. He had no known reason to do it. Please, if you aren't okay, don't do what these people, these child killers, family destroyers, enraged adults, as your taking away something that can never be given back. Politicians really do need to formulate something effective rather than just regulating law abiding citizens. It's so sad to see the same types of things keep happening and politicians peddling the same garbage that doesn't even work. Many of these tragedies could have been prevented. There were eyes on the people before a shot was ever fired. And yet, nothing was done, gun control doesn't work, and taking away the rights of law abiding citizens is not the answer. I don't want to trivialize the trauma of people who have survived. I cannot even fathom how it feels. But gun control is not the answer.

My mom lives in Vegas and also worked on the strip the day this happened. The things she saw, the stories she’s told me are unbelievable. Her and her coworkers actually thought through the panic that there was a shooter in every building. And the building she works at (which I will not name) is incredibly hard to evacuate everyone. With some customers and the staff they barricaded themselves in a room for hours. Only when they saw the news did they come out. On her way home, she drives by the airport which was used by people to run on the air runway to escape. She saw people there, crying, panicking. The people that were there have some insane trama that hopefully they can get over in the future. Something has to be done about these types of mass shootings, or it’s gonna happen again.

But just from hearing him talk....I want to give him a hug and tell him everything is going to be okay, even if it isn't true. There's too much going on in this country that's counterintuitive to human life and positive mental health. Zen, keep moving forward, keep telling your story, hopefully this video will help spread more awareness. If you haven't found a good therapist yet, I hope you find one soon. PTSD is really hard to beat even with therapy, but at least it helps with it. I'm happy you survived to tell your tale. Thank you for giving a voice to this brave individual. He took ownership of the situation and saved lives. But no one expects to have to make that choice. Much love to everyone involved in this. It can be very difficult to come to a final resolution. People's minds are trained to remember details they find important. You cannot remove these details from the person without removing pieces of their self. Getting past the mental conditioning your body puts you through during PTSD is impossible. It becomes your whole body and mind - changed, to alert for predators, like our evolution dictates. And we have many ways to escape this, but nearly all are completely useless for continuing to progress as a person. So many with PTSD commit suicide. Just randomly, 3 months later, 2 years later, 15 years later. You've got to carry that weight a long time.

It really makes our everyday struggles look like nothing. This man is a legend and deserves a better America. One where he doesn't have to dread the next shooting on the news. From those 57 minutes of him pouring out his soul to us... I can tell that he is a hero that helped out the best that he could with what he was throw into. It was sink or swim and he swam the best that he could. He did better than what most of us could have done in that situation. Survivors guilt is something that happens a lot in these types of events and those people deserve all the love they can get. They deserve it all the help they can get. I lived in Vegas at the time of this. In the housing developments off the South end of Las Vegas boulevard. About 5 block South of the venue, I think. Maybe 5-10mins of driving in traffic. Vegas was somber but unified during this. Hospitals and blood donation centers were overflowing with blood donors. They were even sending mobile blood collection to some businesses to collect blood and I donated a double dose along with a lot of others. Multiple people at my place of work had friends or family that were there and that didn't make it. A couple of the employees themselves were physically present and there was one engineer that came to work the next week like nothing had happened. Probably still in shock. I don't think he told anyone that he had been there when the shooting started. He completely snapped a few days later, cussed out his boss, peeled out in the parking lot, damaged vehicles, and led the cops on a car chase for a good 45mins. Even wrecked his own car and stole a car from someone at a stoplight to keep going. I was a really crazy time, and it was even crazier because nobody had any idea, and don't have any solid logical idea, as to why the shooter did this. The whole city had an air of tragedy about it and no good answers to give the victims, families, and concerned citizens. The best conclusion I can come to is that this is what evil is, what it manifests like.

The only thing I can see would have stopped this was security that was ex military. Security that could recognize muzzle flash and had the proper tools to deal with a threat at such a long range. Even extremely strict gun control wouldn't have worked here. @@isaacfulton7731 ,,Strict gun control wouldn't have worked here'' is such a dumb argument. It's the equivalent of saying ,,Well robbers are gonna steal this jewlery anyways, look at all their equipment and planning, so like why bother locking it up, let's just leave it on the table here'' - literally. But people for some reason just assume that it would have happened anyways - and it doesn't matter which shooting is talked about, it's always the same argument. But you know what ? Gun control WORKS in the rest of the world, as always, there is data showing that, but nah. Stop acting like the US is some special place different from the rest of the world enough, that things proven to work in the rest of the planet can't work there. How many dead people and dead children will it take to finaly do something about the problem ? How many dead bodies will it take to snap you guys out of this conforting lie you are telling yourself ? @@milokojjones like your whole comment still ignores the fact that no matter what country this guy lived in he had the cash to legally or illegally do whatever he wanted. This is specific to this case but for all the others I have other arguments. People forget that the largest mass killing at a school happened on the 1930s in the states when a dude packed a bunch of explosives into the basement of a school and thankfully only 1/3 of it went off.
@milokojjones
@milokojjones Жыл бұрын
@@isaacfulton7731 So what ? We should do nothing ? It still the same argument - as I said before ,,Why bother locking things up when thiefs are gonna find a way to steal the stuff anyways ?''. Regardless, even for these things you mentioned, there are ways to limit and prevent these - for example, concrete blocks were installed in places where people gather so that cars can't be used to run crowded people over. Similarly, if you have well funded and well trained firefighters ( and the buildings follow safety regulations ) arsons are much less deadly ( so are car crowd hits ). Bombs are problematic, as they are on a comparable level of deadliness per time using, but even they have their problems - explosives, especially reliable ones are quite hard to make and it's often very sus, so there is a chance the people making them will be discovered prior to their attacks. I'm also rather sure that resources which can be used to create explosives are regulated in one way or another. Going back to gun regulations, the point of these is not to get rid of guns, but to lower the accessibility to them for the general public. Which means, that getting a gun is much harder - Sure the shooter may have money to buy the weapons on black market, but not everyone is going to go through the work to get a gun illegaly. Likewise, not everyone has connections to get guns from the black market and since their holding of a gun would be illegall, there is a higher chance that they could be discovered or caught before they are able to do anything. Once again, gun regulations and strict gun ownership laws work for the rest of the world. There is a reason why the wikepedia site for mass shootings lists individual events for the other countries in the world, while the US tab lists statistics for how many people die yearly in mass shootings in the US. So let me ask again, how many dead bodies does it take ? What's the limit ?

Despite making me cry, I appreciate this story being shared. I think Ven is incredibly strong and courageous man for sharing his story in this capacity. Me and my husband grew up in Reno, he had been to Vegas a few times. I went to Vegas once in the aftermath of the shooting. My hubby’s best friend got us tickets to see Markiplier live when he was doing the “You’re Welcome” tour. When this shooting happened before then, my husband had a very vivid dream that he was at the Vegas concert during the shooting. He said it felt very terrifying, and real. Last year we moved from Northern Nevada to the Portland, OR area and unfortunately gun crime is an issue here. About a month ago, husband got shot at during a drive by while he was driving. Got very lucky, bullet bounced off the car, no damage, he wasn’t hit. He calls me immediately after and for some reason he makes it sound like he just witnessed it, later I find out he was in shock at the time he called me. Later on he comes home, bear hugs me and I could literally feel it. Everything. The fear he felt.. the sadness.. The thought of ‘this is it I’m going to die.’ I think it is still important to go outside and such but I understand a lot of peoples fear now. I have mental issues and trauma in my past but not from experiences like this. Hearing the pain in Ven’s voice also reminded me of the same pain I’ve heard in my husband’s voice when he told me about his past. I’ve heard this tone of voice and pain from my partner a few times and it’s the worst thing when you feel like you don’t know how to help. I refuse to watch any mainstream TV news media coverage of tragedies like this. Reason because these tragedies always get turned into some political BS to distract the masses. Experiencing one of these tragedies 1st hand, having to see the media, and worse being labeled part of a conspiracy.. it all sounds like a nightmare. I can’t stomach news coverage of tragedies like these anymore, they sicken me and fill me with hate and rage.

Hi Darth. I know this video came out awhile ago, so idk if you’ll even see this, but on the off chance you do I just want to say thank you for talking about this. It’s one thing to go through it, it’s another to revisit it willingly. Im a first responder in a major Texas metropolitan area and I see horrible things every week. I’ve seen people literally torn apart from car accidents. I’ve held the hands of spouses as they watch the most important person in their life die from a medical emergency. I’ve had to tell mothers their children are dead and listen to their screams. I’ve seen all of that and more, but I cannot imagine the horror you have been through. I know that no matter how many people you helped and saved, it’s the ones that didn’t make it that probably stay with you the most. No matter how many people you save, it never feels like enough if even one of them doesn’t make it. But I want you to know you made a difference. You didn’t fix EVERYTHING and save EVERYONE, because there’s no eventuality where you could have, no matter what you did. No one could have. You aren’t responsible for the ones who didn’t make it, the shooter is. But you sure as shit are responsible for the ones that did make it. It will likely never feel that way, but it’s the truth. People are alive today because of you. I know that doesn’t make the pain stop, though. In a way, you made a bargain with the universe that day: in order for many people to live, you chose to take on the burden of loss for those that died. That is the heaviest burden of all and I think it speaks to the love you have for your fellow human beings deep inside you. But you don’t have to carry that burden if you don’t want to. There will never be a time where this isn’t part of you, but there is a future where you don’t feel so responsible for things that were out of your control. I want you to know that you aren’t nobody. You are you, and you matter so much more than you think you do. And so does your pain. I see you. I see your pain. You aren’t alone. I know I’m an internet stranger, but as a fellow Texan millennial, I would love to chat some time. We never have to speak about this if you don’t want to, but I’d love to play some games or just chill on discord some time. This isn’t pity or charity, you legit just seem like a cool dude. Take it or leave it, up to you my friend 🙂 be well

I have an unbelievably hard time crying (physically difficult for me to cry), but you better fucking believe that I was tearing up the entire time. I have nothing but respect for you Darth, and I don't know how to express my disgust for those accusing you of blatant lies and threatening you. Stay strong...

I remember this shooting pretty vividly, particularly because I had just started learning to make music at the time, so a concert shooting this deadly just upset me like nothing ever had. At the time I took my limited knowledge of music and wrote a tribute piece to the tragedy, and while I admit regretfully that it isn't particularly good musically, it's still very important to me. That being said, hearing it from someone who was really there changes your perspective a great deal, and I'm so glad you've given Darth a place to share his story, and I'm yet again just so incredibly upset that people actually think that it's all a coverup to take away their guns or something.

At the very beginning of the video, Darth’s voice just sets in stone the grave tone of the video. Also, Azeal, you are truly a blessing to these people suffering from this ptsd and trauma.

I really don't have any words or can express how I am feeling watching this. My stomach is in knots I even watched Las Vegas: A Traumatized City Struggles to hear where Darth tells his story, seeing his face changed everything now I know who is behind the voice and I just want to hug him and tell him everything will be okay. I was in my 20's when I saw the Las Vegas Shooting on the news (34 years old now) and remembering seeing it on the news was traumatizing. That frightful night happened 2017 and it is 2023 now so 6 years ago and now I wonder how Darth is doing. Azeal, if you can, I would like to see Darth back seeing how he is doing now; has he healed? I am so sorry that has happened to you, Darth, to everybody who had to go through something so traumatic like that. May you all be blessed and healed. Remember, you are not alone and to always reach out to someone if you need help. Mental health is important and traumatic events like this people need to be loved and know they are cared for. Azeal, you are surely an angel our world really needs angels like you. Thank you for being such a kind soul. Please, always keep shining and being that star that shines bright.

I could never imagine the horror he went through. I don't think I would be able to handle a situation like that and I'm a pretty brave guy but seeing people die right in front of you would break anyone no matter how strong or brave you are. My heart goes out to you man you deserve better. No one should go through a massacre like that none of those thousands of people should have needed to go through any of this.

I truly appreciate this type of content and am thankful people like you are willing to facilitate the telling of these stories. I just hope you take care of your own mental health. Many of the stories I’ve heard on these types of channels are traumatic, and just hearing them can bring someone to a dark place. You’re hearing the stuff that doesn’t even make the cut as well, and doing your own research on these stories as well. So, make sure you take care of yourself so you can continue to be the medium in which these stories are told.

I wasn't directly in a shooting, but the school next to the one we were visiting was shot up by a student, and during that time we didn't know what the fuck was happening. We weren't contacted by anyone because we weren't part of the district, so they just held us in the gym and told us "there's a shooting, stay here." I legit thought I someone was gonna open that gym door and we were all going to die. I remember thinking "Oh my god it's finally happening to us. If I'm going to die, what do I want my last text to be?" That incident was 8 years ago, and I'm 22 now, so it's been like, an entire lifetime ago for what was such a dumb misunderstanding of a situation, it can't even be called trauma... But because of that, I really can't imagine how difficult it must be to relive your own trauma. But I hope your story can help stop this kind of thing from happening again. It's one that shouldn't be forgotten, so I'm really grateful to hear you telling it.
