I’ve actually died twice in my life. Once as a child from what I think was cardiac arrest according to how my parents explained it to me and another from getting hit by a truck. Don’t remember anything from the earliest one but after I lost consciousness when I was hit. I saw this forest with sunlight coming from everywhere. I was trying so hard to find the sun but it was like it was all around me. I remember feeling anxious and sad yet happy and calm at the same time. And then I saw this old man in the distance looking at me, couldn’t really see any facial features but despite him being a stranger to me, I felt like we were close. He then turned around and started walking away but I followed after. I then started hearing this distant drumming coming from the direction he was going towards. I don’t know how long it was but eventually I caught up to him and at this point the drumming was almost deafening with inaudible whispers coming from all directions. I reached for him and then everything stopped; the drumming, the whispers which I now realize were some sort of chant, and the old man. He turned around and I saw one of his eyes were missing. I wanted to be afraid because I thought I was starring death in the eyes, but again, just his gaze was calming enough. He spoke words to me in another tongue but one word that stuck with me was “drengr” and then he put his hand on my head and I woke up. I was in the same street where I was hit and now there was lots of people surrounding me. They helped me on my feet and a woman helped me clean the blood from my eyes. I was so distracted with the thoughts of that old man and the chanting/drumming that I payed no mind to all the people around me. A year and a half later I mustered up the courage to talk about my experience online, I was met by a lot of people calling me a liar, some told me that getting hit probably messed something up in my head and I was hallucinating but I know I was dead, even if it was just for a few minutes. Then I was approached by this man from Norway via DM that explained who the old man might’ve been Woden and that’s how I came across the mythology of the Norse people, mind you I have no knowledge of having Scandinavian ancestry, I’m Mexican. I had heard of Thor but only through the marvel movies, but that’s as far as my knowledge of them went. He described to me that the old wanderer that I came across was most likely Odin himself. The man asked me to describe what the old man did to me and after I did he replied with “he probably told you it wasn’t your time” and after that I regained consciousness. At this point in my life I was what people might’ve called an atheist, but soon after I started worshipping the old gods and ever since Ive lived a happier life, knowing one day I’ll get to see that old man again, maybe in folkvangr or valhalla. I realize this makes me look like one of those “I died and I saw the light so therefore god is real” but I just wanted to share my story.

I remember back in June, a friend shared this video of a guy in VR chat explaining how, I quote from him, "Chocolate was used as a weapon by the Taliban." Of course, this piqued my interest, and I watched it all the way through. Watched it, thought it was interesting, then moved on. A month later, the same friend sent me another video from here about the bounty hunter (congrats on the 4 mil with that) and thought it was really cool that there's this dude interviewing people in VRC sharing their stories. I eventually subscribed and was incredibly excited what to see next. Soon, more and more videos start coming out, and the popularity of this channel has grown to give light to stories that some never had another soul hear. I'm so proud of the work and dedication you've put into this channel and for the first time think it's awesome that you got a sponsor proper. I'm excited to see what happens in the future and will be anticipating more videos in the future. Keep digging mate, it's still a long road for growth and shedding light on untold stories.

Kinda related to guy #2's story, my grandpa was a member of solidarity in Poland during communism which basically means that you're against communism, which was a crime punishable by death. This led to my grandpa and a couple other solidarity members getting trapped inside a factory that they were working at because the Polish military were surrounding them. The only reason why the military didn't just break in and kill all of the workers is because the furnace they were using is almost impossible to relight, and it would be cheaper for them to build a new one then it would be to relight it. The workers would put out the furnace if the military bust their way in, but if the furnace went out then the military would have no reason to not break in. I wouldn't be alive if that furnace went out.

Every time my family gets a flu shot, the very next day, they suddenly have the flu. Covid shots have also been a HUGE problem in my family, it has different effects on each of us. My mom was awake for only like 5 hours a day she was so tired- this lasted like 2 months- and then when my sister got it, she had this energy boost and she was happier. And when I got it- I went into convulsions (which has never happened) and we had to call EMS. Now since, I have been tired like my mom, but not as badly as she was. I just remember it was a terrible experience and truly scary, and nobody is really allowed to talk about that..

My mom is a nurse, in her career she's seen her fair share of death and told me a lot of stories of her experiences. There were these few stories that kept sticking with me, all either about her interactions with patients, or families, shortly after death. Or during it, she's had many experiences with her dead family members coming back, or even dead family members of others she sees in her dreams, in one instance, my former history teacher had passed away of covid-19 this year, that morning before his death was announced, she had a dream about him despite him not being my history teacher since as of 2019-2020, in her dream, he was sitting on a chair in yellow light, he was smiling, happy. He was really loved in the community too, idk know how to explain it away, (other than her lying, which I would not see a clear reason for her to do so) all the things she has told me, and things others have told me renew my faith that there is in fact life after death, but none of us truly know what it is, and we shouldn't, we should live life normally.

As someone who isn’t religious and makes predictions of what death is like based on scientific studies, AND being pretty much terrified of losing my consciousness after death, this makes me sorta happy, knowing that there is a chance scientifically that our consciousness still remains after we flatline. EDIT: I was looking up the fear of nothing and I guess it’s called Oudenophobia, I’m not exactly sure though, as there were like 10 different results, but this seems like the most plausible.

Throughout my school years I was never once taught about the misfortune presently going on in other countries. That was something I had to find out on my own. That’s when I realized how much I took my life for granted. Being able to eat and sleep in a bed everyday is a blessing in itself. The US is a good country in the way it works. That said, it also in a way hides the truth. Most people will grow up blind to the present world because they were never taught. Protecting kids from the truth created blind people. It’s contradictory. Although I can say that my parents being honest with me about the misfortune in their lives, when I learned about the world I was able to see it for what it is. I wish I knew about the world earlier in life. Maybe I would spent my childhood trying to save it instead of being dumb.

So, there’s a few instances of me almost dying. Three of which involve a deadly staff infection called MRSA. I’ve had it three times, once when I was a baby, once in 5th grade, and we aren’t sure if it actually was MRSA for the 3rd time but that one was the most recent. I’ll talk about the 2nd time because I remember the most about it. So one day I notice the right side of my bottom lip seems to be increasing in size, later after it was getting hard to even chew and speak, I was sent to the nurses office after feeling sick(not to do with my lip) the nurse said we need to check it out because that wasn’t normal. I still remember the day, how the doctors at the HOSPITAL said “he’s fine, it’s just a pimple” before this…. But my doctor for check ups and stuff knew my record, and instantly stated that it was not just a simple pimple. It was MRSA, it was painful when they treated it because well, they numbed it but they couldn’t put me to sleep because of it just being a doctors office. They had to pick it open to let the puss out. Blood was all over my lip afterwards. But I still remember how for a few weeks after I had to have gauze and something heated on my lip so all the puss came out. To the doctor who almost got me killed, that is the reason we have never come back to the hospital, we always go to another out of town hospital called “RUSH:Copley medical center”. And to my doctor who realized it was MRSA, I thank god we went to you.

I know I'm being nit picky, but that took place several days after D-Day, still during operation overlord, just not on D-Day. By June 15th allied forces pushed so far inland that the Texas's guns didn't have the range necessary to hit targets. The starboard torpedo blister was flooded to gain an extra 2 degrees of elevation and she was able to fire. However, by the next day this was no longer enough and she returned to England on the 18th.

So he had "died" for at least a week, or more likely a.coma, but they didn't want to pull the plug just yet. So a week goes bye, and these doctors revive him. To this day, my dad has remembered seeing A figure about 5"7 asking him, "would you like to restart your life or continue" and apparently he continued and now I ask him the same story over and over again

I have had an experience somewhat like the first story. Though for me it was before I could remember being alive. I just remember there being nothing. It's an experience that's hard to believe but just a time where I just kinda went from not existing to existing, even though nothing changed everything was still dark but calming. It's terrifying to think about going back to that when I've met so many friends who care for me so dearly. Death scares me because I worry about never seeing the ones I love and care for again.

That void in death gave me my first existential crisis a while back and it terrifies me. My brain just can’t comprehend death as the always going to happen when it’s goal is to survive. My brain wants to finish thoughts like reading sentences, I could foresee from context what the last words will say but my mind will bug me until I read it even if I read it before. But when I think of the void death the back of my head goes cold numb in pain. It sucks I have to keep distracting myself to avoid a thought of it.

Absolutely relatable. Sometimes my brain just throws my thoughts into that corner anyway and I just get a crying fit. Usually happens in the late evening/night or morning hours after I just woke up and didn't push myself out of bed yet

When i was 4 yrs old i had been in a horrible car accident. During my time in the hospital, something went wrong and i had flatlined and my heart stopped beating. I dont really remember what i had seen and felt entirely, but i do remember my first father figure being with me and essentially a very real feeling set of dreams of going to places w him, doing our daily routines, etc. After i had come back i was essentially told he had passed away (i know now it was on impact) except they worded it in a way a child could handle ofc

About the first story, I have something similar. (WHOO, I can tell people MY stories!) I was in a grey car with my mom and dad. Dad was driving, and mom was sitting in the passenger seat. From what I remember, I was in the middle backseat. Dad had taken a wrong turn, and we had gotten lost in a citrus field. No matter which way we turned, we couldn't get out, and I didn't remember if we got out again. Now, I thought that was a dream, so I never told my parents. I told them about two months ago, and they confirmed it was a real event. But here's the thing. When Mom and Dad got lost in the citrus field, I wasn't born yet. The very idea of me didn't even exist. But everything lined up, down to the fact that my dad's hair was buzzed when it happened. I recall this black haze around my vision, AND for some reason I remember I felt four years old in the memory. Next story. I was four years old when I had fallen off my bed in the middle of the night, but somehow, I didn't wake up. The next morning when I woke up, I was sitting on my bed and looking at myself sleeping on the floor. I didn't think much of it, and somehow I drifted back into my body, I don't exactly remember how. These are the two main stories I can think of, there were a few other experiences. But still.

Coding is not that complex. It just means you’ve likely gone into cardiac arrest and you’re heart has stopped. It happens relatively often in hospitals, especially with older patients and over weight patients on cardiac floors. Nurses are always prepared to apply CPR or a defibrillator in the cases. Not sure on the rate of success, though.

No, you can't come back from brain death. That's dead dead. This guy was only dead, so he could be brought back. Since he had just gotten a vaccine, he was more than likely sitting in the waiting room for the 15 min waiting period after administration (which we do precisely for people like him who are allergic and don't know it), so he received high-quality CPR from registered healthcare providers within a matter of seconds or minutes and most likely did not suffer much damage due to oxygen deprivation like he would have if he had not been found and resuscitated quickly. CPR is much more effective if it happens immediately.

i used to know someone who had died and came back. Theyve since actually passed away from cancer, but they were- what would the word be? Coded? They were coded for an hour, I guess. Afterward my friends and I asked them what they saw, and they told us they saw lights. Many lights, something like the northern lights. They said the lights were pretty, and that they actually kind of missed them. They ended up being on the brink of death on purpose, if you know what I mean, so this wasn't exactly surprising. I knew someone else, who - on a happier note - is actually alive and thriving now. I'm not sure if they were "coded" or if they were just in a coma, as I have memory issues and this was at least a year ago I believe. I think they died and came back as well, though. They told us that death was dark, and it smelled like cinnamon. Which sounds odd, but also oddly nice. I dont know what it is about "coding" but its pretty interesting to me to see what people saw. The way they got that way in the first place is a bit sad most always if not every time, but its still interesting to me to hear about.

My dad told me a story about 8 years ago (around the time FnaF came out ironically) about how he technically died and was brought back once. According to her (my dad is trans now but from here I'll use male pronouns as she hadn't gone trans yet when telling the story) when he was about 14, he tried killing himself in the HS bathroom and if I'm remembering this right, by slamming his head against the urinal. And technically for a few minutes, he said it was about 8 which I've been told after about 2 or 3 minutes the brain starts taking damage, but was then brought back. Not sure if it's a true story cuz my mom thinks it's bs and tbh it is a bit silly but hey, I was only like 12 at the time so I thought it was cool. However he also told me his experience with being dead and to his day if I have to keep myself busy because if my thoughts wander they always gravitate towards what it'd be like to die which then causes me to go into panic, crying and begging to not die, which is especially hard on me as my thoughts wander even faster than they already do when in the shower and since there's less to occupy me I fall into a panic 90% of the time. I've never been suicidal, and the 1 time I cut myself it was a heat of the moment thing and my gf at the time was a cutter so perhaps that knowledge didn't help. I just can't help it regardless of my peaceful childhood (I'm turning 21 in 10 days from now btw). Actually the last time I panicked was like last week at work, I was listening to a video can't remember what but something from it sparked the thought process that led to me again crying and fearing the idea of just never waking up and not being able to think, feel or breathe again, all while in the bathroom. I've been occasionally going into these panics starting when I was in sophmore year when the center of my vision was just a black dot and for some reason that triggered the 1st panic. I've only just very recently started telling people about this so only like 1 or 2 know atm. But hey, now the entire internet can look at this, the story of my dad's attempted suicide and my fear of death panics can be immortalized. Hope ya'll have a great day, and I can't wait for mid-term elections to end so I can stop getting ads about some fossil republican wanting to ban abortion and how great it is that a democratic fossil wants to legalize weed in Wisconsin

Honestly I totally know exactly what the first guy was talking about when he said, "all I saw was a black void" after ☠️ cause tbh when I was like either 6 to 7, or 7 to 8 years old, my family, me, my mom and older brother went too six flags, water park with one of my mom's ex friends and their kids. Basically one of them always liked to mess with everyone but when Mom and her ex friend went off to do something, leaving all of us alone when we decided to go in the pool one of ex mom friend's kids. The one I mentioned before well he in his mind was jokingly doing it, but he literally grabbed my head and put it under the water and held it there and the thing is I have a fear of drowning, I think the fear comes from a video game I saw my dad play at a young age, or something that they told me that made me fear it (but my dad is an entirly different story) and my brain is very particularly about breathing only through my nose so I couldn't really just hold my breath on command. So I literally had my fear happen and when it did everything just went black and all I remember think was "I don't wanna ☠️ I'm not ready pls god don't me ☠️" and next thing I know is I wake up still underwater but somehow now breathing it as if it was oxygen and so like any little brother I yelled for big brother to come help. Which after yelling 2 times he somehow heard and smacked the kid making him release me and when I took my head out of the water I just remember a lot of water coming out like had to open my mouth and then blow water out of my nose, and mind you at that time my body wouldn't have been that tall so it was way more water than it should have been able to handle. I thanked my brother who asked if I was fine and I said yeah, then I sat down but I gave the kid the eyes of pure hatred and fear before that. Then I saw on my mom's phone that it was about an 2 hours sense my mom went off, and an hour sense I was gone under water as I asked that kids little nicer brother what time it was before that incident so I was gone for an hour and literally nobody noticed at all so I know that kid did it on purpose and no matter how much they lie and tell themselves they didn't, I know they did and they know I do. That's why after that event, whenever his mom would bring him and his siblings over again he'd try being overly nice to me and I said I forgave when he said he was sorry but I said it in a way that made it clear that I didn't mean it at all. I guess I can't say nobody noticed the kids little brother did notice what he was doing in the pool and apparently tried to stop him but wasn't strong enough so he left trying to find our mom's as he couldn't find my brother in the pool area that we were all in, of course he told me all of this later when he came back and I went to the bathroom as he showed me the way there. Basically he told me the stuff that happened while I was gone. He told me that when he noticed what his brother was doing was already starting to go, he said my skin was literally turning if not already pale like white as a ghost, and I'm mixed and have skin that absorbs melanin easily so that says something that I was definitely gone. I know most kids don't really understand a lot and I was in the sped class but I was still intelligent at those ages it's probably because of the video games and things I grew up with tbh my dad he was well something but he could get angry but little too angry at mistakes or mom like every night he threw things at her but he did let me secretly play videos like my first one game was "smash melee" I guess maybe that was a reason for my intelligence outside of writing and math at those ages but my dad did get kicked and I'd visit him but when I was six or maybe 7 it was way before the incident I mentioned with that kid in August but he basically almost ended me over accidentally getting spit on the TV when I talked while playing a game at his house and I didn't say anything for awhile but eventually I told my mom and she got full custody of me although the court tried to get me to keep seeing him even making the people go against the rules and nit let me leave if I didn't feel comfortable during these forced meetings which they weren't allowed to do but I didn't have to see him after that and then the incident in the Summer happened. Anyway back to the topic of that kid I'll just say that some years after that like 2014 or 2015 so I was 10 or 11 depending on the exact year and basically the ex friend, the kid and the siblings got in a car accident but the little brother made it to our house and he of course being nice asked if he could come in and explained to me why he was there as I didn't know what happened and I said I hope they're okay but really I just meant sister and ex mom's friend/their mom which sound messed but after what that kid their older brother did I think it's reasonable I'd never get over it. If you're wondering whether Mt brother remembers what happens we'll I know he knows as when he smacked the kid off of me he told him that I could if not was already gone and that I was pale and he only manged to get me because he heard me so he knows but I think he's buried the memory now probably because as he got older it didn't make logical sense so his brain is trying to protect him which I understand but this is why I totally can't not believe that's there's a god I mean I ain't going to church or reading a Bible but that experience that happened in 2011 or 2012 really made it hard to not believe. note: (sorry if it's not grammatical spaced the best I still struggle with writing.)
