Integrity? She praised Beyoncé lemonade in this interview & just last month she mocked it while talking about Beyoncé’s new single. She is very intelligent & aware but when she feels offended or unsatisfied with the projection of certain aspects in popular culture that are controlled by the “powers that be” she gets hostile & belligerent & doesn’t express herself in a productive way or contradicts her views out of pettiness & resentment. But yes at times she can be in the lane of genius then all of a sudden she’ll gear off track.

45:00 still blows me away with how she talks about being drugged and sexually assaulted and the only thing the media picks up from this interview is that Azealia had something slick to say about Cardi. Can she get some sympathy for being a survivor? I understand that she spoke about it in such a casual way, very much sounding like she’s over it, but damn, that was a real moment of vulnerability that everyone in the room just shrugged off.

I wish she would have the whole conversation instead of speaking on it from all angles... she makes it like she was gonna be with dude she didn’t say no she said something else cause what he was doing and by the way did she take a drug test ? Or just tested herself?

Piper Rose Anyone who has been using recreational drugs knows there’s a big difference between feeling like you’ve been hit with a substance and being under the drowsy influence of alcohol. Yes, she admitted she was planning on possibly being with him, that’s probably why they ended up in the hotel room together - but even if she said yes earlier, in what reality does that give a man whole permission to assault a woman who is having blurred lines of consent from drinking and being drugged?

She’s actually likable...she didn’t have to use the vulgar name calling towards Cardi, but her point was valid...No disrespect to Cardi, but she represents the worst of our culture and that’s why the media enjoys her. She sounds severely uneducated when she speaks. Y’all can scream “she’s getting money “ all day, but all the media sees is an illiterate, uneducated, ex stripper, unwed, woman of color, who uses vulgar language and is about to become a mother to a rappers’ 4th or 5th child. She’s everything that the media think we, as women of color, are.

Idgaf Azealia Banks is rarely wrong when it comes to the BIG PICTURE . Like she said in other interviews, it took a long time for female rappers to be taken seriously, they worked hard and pushed their pen and have over idk maybe 200 songs/verses to get where they are today and still get bottom barrel. A stripper who admits not writing her raps comes up in it and has no Flow and a 2nd grade vocabulary and no enunciation , comes up in it and is praised??

It's not Cardi's fault she's had so much success. The audience decides an artist's commercial fate. Not Azealia. The real "big picture" is that the audience prefers female rappers who aren't Azealia (Nicki, Iggy, Cardi, Lizzo).

Rocco Z well like she said there are people over the fans who promote what gets more exposure so unless people are actively looking, which most aren’t, the talent gets swept under the rug and whatever they decide they want to be the topic/hot song of the week gets showcased and highlighted.

@@roccoz2231 That’s just the thing, people are so triggered that they can’t even process/comprehend the fact that she’s downplaying the industry, not the artist. She simultaneously says that she enjoys these artist work. I don’t know how that is labeled as “hypocrisy”.

After watching this interview, I definitely have a changed perspective of Azealia Banks. A very misunderstood young woman and media has definitely painted her as a villain. But nevertheless, she’s familiar with the meaning of a true artist and I agree with her opinion that rap and music period has gotten very lazy. Although I may not agree with everything that she says or does, her candor, intelligence and sense of humor is admirable.

She's brave standing for what she believes in but making the same mistake Monique made. You don't make enemies of the people you need to be recruiting to join your cause. Also If you saw the whole interview there's many examples of how she's a walking contradiction. She says black woman she be empowering and lifting eachother then she insults them with disgusting vulgarities. She says black should practice safe sex, then seems to brag how she let a white man she'd just met eat her dirty anus. Something is wrong here andbafoonish it's scary.

Jessey Boe Exactly! We can try and sugar coat her aloofness of her ideals for growth... But c'mon! This is the epitome of not holding oneself accountable. If we all went around going "Who cares what I say?! Why do people care? You shouldn't listen to my opinions. That's people's problems, not mine." then get upset about the opinions people have of you... 😂😂😂 Sorry, it's laughable! Plus, you get mad at a Radio Host for expressing or "encouraging" his opinions of you to people, then say "People shouldn't judge me from what I say." That's quite, literally, a paradox. She has some "progressive" thoughts that may seem "woke", but fundamentally uhh naw.

It’s almost eerie seeing her say things that get her blacklisted, then months to years later you hear everyone else speak on them. The thing is with her is that she is deeply submerged into to world politics, she speaks and has options in foreign policies the moment the alter. While about 80% of the general public on formulates their options on pop culture & politics when subject matters are headlining. Which is why thousands of people who watched that “Breakfast Club” interview, expressed in the comments that they were wrong about her and completely taken back how she’s painted so many abstract concepts in black and white. Don’t let the white man/woman ran (influence/conditioning/institutionalized structure to silence intelligent black woman (Eartha Kit)) media platforms/news outlets- micromanage your triggers, anger, and outrage.

jmarie8711 right she really wanted to say the shit cardi say and do the media eats it up and call her real but if we as black woman was to act and talk like that and spell like a 4th grader we will be called ignorant ghetto loud and stupid and when she said the real pen pushing artist i get it i felt the same way they really did lower the standard and its no diss to cardi but its an honest fact that cardi dont have true talent cardi was pushed to the top but on the other hand real talent is left unseen or unheard its all a joke now ppl dont sell records because its great ppl sell records for popularity if u popular at the moment why do u think social media is so big now and all these celebrities are on it and we as the public are seeing shit that was hidden look at the 80s and 90s compared to todays NWO but azealia spoke alot of truth

Azealia Banks is far ahead of her time. A complete artist when there aren't many artists in the game right now. There should be NO doubt that she loves hip hop...and handles her craft with care and creativity. She might have her issues...she's problematic in that she's viscous with her clapbacks...but the sister is talented. PERIOD. I just want home girl to win. And without compromising her art.

22:00 Black Women's culture, the media, and their influence on black women's consciousness. 28:20 the system is the same on both sides, no matter who you're voting for. The American dream, rests on a systematically oppressed underclass. Be it, black people, Latino people, people in jail, people in china building things for us for cheap that's just the name of the game. 31:40 Do black women want to be included in feminism? 36:00 They say her music is for the gays but house music was made by black and Latino kids, and she is offended that another black person has authority over her blackness.

She was doing chemical peels on her skin. There are ingredients in it that lighten the skin, but the ultimate goal is for an even complexion (she had bad acne after getting on BC) and your skintone goes back to the regular color after treatment. If you think she's not still dark you are tripping. Check her ebro in the morning interview, she explains it.
