For those that think this was some plot from someone outside, remember his wife told her employers that she didn't want to go hunting with him because she was afraid he would "do something" to her. It is hard to wrap our minds around this, but their are all sorts of psychopaths that live among us. They do not have "psychopath" or "killer" stamped upon their foreheads. Trust your gut. Be wary of all new people in your life or your surroundings.

A friend of mine was murdered by her husband. She said to a few friends and her boss, "If I don't show up one day, call the police immediately." She wouldn't say more than she thought her husband might kill her. Not even a week later, she was dead. It still chills me to the core but there was no way you could convince her to talk to the police or leave him. She stayed with him for the sake of her son. A few years later, a friend of the ex-husband was charged with her death and a few years after that, the ex-husband died from cancer. If someone thinks their significant other is going to kill them, take the information to the police.

Nonsense. Women aren’t innocent - can be awful in social context (my recent family history). They often support terrible men usually out of fear or lack of support. It’s rare for women to be violent or destructive. I am a vocal supporter of better childhood conditions for boys as a way of reducing this - boys are far more impacted by bullies when young & all it takes is 1 little shit in nursery / primary school /home to teach boys they are on their own - if we want boys to feel safe & creative they need a diff environment with defined structure & boundaries They are entitled to it. But feel sorry for men for victimising others? No. Say women are on par for terrible behaviour- no.

There used to be an escaped slave that hid out in a cave and river system for the rest of his life until he died of natural causes here in Puerto Rico. This system is very long and spans many municipalities. He became so discolored they thought he was a spirit that haunted them. He would steal what he needed to survive at night and some people would leave out food and clothing for him to use. He became a folk legend and was written about by Coll y Toste in his Book Legends and Traditions. The thing is to get to know the place thoroughly. Know when the river is high and low during the year and move through the system accordingly. Robert had the time to stock up and map out the place. This means he had premeditation. What a piece of work.

I know this might sound contentious as I explain it But I have witnessed this in many countries and it has to do with so many external - and internal - factors For example, if, in your frame of mind reference, you as the breadwinner, feel emasculated, and despondent because the world's economic and political powers, as well as all the "schturm und drang" social mediums and news forums, are promoting the negatives Well, as a conventional male with a conventional mindset that dictates that "the man must provide", The man's upbringing, cultural awareness, social awareness of behaviour and responsibilities inherent in the "training" of his upbringing, all comprise to contribute toward his wholeness within the context of him being more than the sum of all these component parts (Gestaldt) When this mind is assaulted to the extent that he feels that no longer has either the means or the strength to support or guide, provide for or protect his family, in his own mind, it would be utterly selfish of him to kill himself, leaving his family to deal with the fallout - That is this man's mindset, and it happens across cultural and geographical boundaries and borders

I just wanted to say about the guy in custody and the fingerprints not adding up that a similar thing happened to me. In the early days of CODIS I was able to make two profiles by giving two different names, one being under my real name and one being an alias so back when I was on the run when police would run my prints and my alias would come up, it was a police error they put in that I had a tattoo on my left ankle which was in fact on my right. A detective who had arrested me before came and identified me as my real name but because CODIS was giving a different name and tattoo, they had to let me go. If something like this happened to me it could have quite easily happened to Robert as well. For some reason in the early days CODIS didn’t identify my fingerprints also it’s likely when he had his original army fingerprints done, there could have quite easily been an error, such as the wrong name put on the fingerprints. Even though it’s only 20 years ago the system was much easier to fool back then and also authorities were overrun by paperwork so shortcuts were made. The only real way to identify him would be DNA. they should have DNA tested that prisoner, there is a high probability it was him. You know someone’s eyes when you see them, I believe the neighbour recognised his eyes. Also for anyone wondering, I’m no longer on the run. I eventually got caught, served my time and changed my life around.

After committing the murders, he fled to California, stayed there for many years, then moved to either Arizona or New Mexico, got remarried and tried to live happily ever after until one night in the 1980's when he saw himself being featured on "Unsolved Mysteries."

Who are the women Robert had affairs with? One detective said he checked with Mayo Clinic to see if anybody knew of a workplace romance, but I don't think they looked very seriously. They should have checked his church, the gym where he worked out and the bars he occasioned. We know about his telling his minister of a massage worker giving him an STD, but apparently there was a later sexual tryst right before the murders. If you knew who these women were, the case would be solved. I believe one woman helped him in his flight; perhaps a call girl and someone with a serious criminal history. No way did Robert kill himself. I believe he thought about killing his family for a very long time; perhaps years. He had an enormous ego and thought very highly of himself. I think he wanted to ditch the family and start over with a girlfriend. I recall meek and mild John List killing his entire family so he could be free to begin a new life. Same with Chris Watts. The entire key to this case is the women Robert was involved with and the detectives dropped the ball.

I knew the fisher family. His wife was one of the child ministry leaders at Scottsdale Baptist. My daughter and I camped with the fishers at Young in the same spot they found her vehicle and the dog. There's a couple things in the documentary I don't agree with. First, he did not go to church. He grew up in the church. He was an atheist who wore a chip on his shoulder about it. We were camping with friends from the church together at Young. He felt he had to make it known to me that he was an atheist, and felt he had to defend himself. It was obvious to me he carried a lot of guilt about it. She asked me, after he left the table, to forgive him for how childish he was. Our daughters took a nap together in they're camping trailer. My daughter slept on Roberts bed. I can't imagine that he's still alive. First, because of the way he interacted with his daughter. She was definitely his little girl. My theory has always been that he offed himself in the hills out there. But he DEFINITELY was a survivalist. The church did hunting banquets and he was the best hunter in the church according to one if his best friends he grew up with at the church.

@@Letmebe_2363 I think you probably misunderstand the torn feelings a person can have who is raised believing in God, believes in the PEOPLE who taught him about God, and then when he realizes those people are flawed or bad people, he 'loses' his faith. It can be really complex if your faith is really faith in your minister or parents, and not a personal relationship with God. So you 'believe' in God, know God exists, but you have huge anger against the people who taught you about God (maybe they neglected you, abused you or treated you unfairly). As a child, you can't realistically walk away from your parents: where would you go? You really want them to love you not abuse you. You have to keep hoping that eventually your parents will change, will love you as you need to be loved, but they don't. So you want to act out that anger, and you take it out on God. You 'hate' God or say that you don't believe in God, because it's safer to reject God than to reject the parents you depend on for everything. If a child is abused by a minister, for example, and the parents hush it up or let it go on or don't believe the child, the child can cry for help by saying to anyone who will listen, 'I don't believe in God.' Of course, abandoning God is terrifying - but it's somehow safer and more possible than 'abandoning' your parents when you are a dependent child. Telling this to people from your church or to your parents can be a cry for help - something so extreme that you hope it will make the people you say it to realize that you are in serious distress and need help (it's like threatening suicide, only not bodily suicide, but spiritual suicide). That's why there can be guilt, because it's something extreme that you don't want to do, may not even understand why you are doing it. It can be very complicated, especially in those branches of Christianity that are minister-centered, where your minister is the person you 'believe' in. Even for adults, if they find out that the minister is 'a sinner,' they can have their faith completely shaken and become 'atheists,' while deep down being quite angst-ridden over their abandonment of God. If someone believed in God as a child, was abused or neglected by the very people who passed on the faith, it can really be painful to abandon God, because yo actually hope he exists, need him to exist, but in the end, all you really know is that the parents (or perhaps the minister) who instilled belief in you has failed you. So you've lost both your parents AND God - but you are the one who abandoned God. Very complex.

I also think he is alive & somewhere living his life. This was well pre-planned. Why would he make so much effort to plan so meticulously, just to go die somewhere? If he could plan his getaway that well, he would have planned his live disappearance well too. Which obviously, he did. Maybe he didn't reckon with the manhunt going worldwide, but as he knew so much about so many things about survival, why would he not plan a survival for him after this? He's somewhere, alive. Maybe he has changed his appearance drastically. And he must have had more money stashed away somewhere, coz he wasn't going to go far on $200! How does one kill one's own children???? And then continue to live with yourself??? Reminds me of that other bastard, who also killed his wife, pregnant at the time, and his 2 baby daughters.....for a piece on the side. Bloody moron. @@Prometheuspredator Narcissists absolutely do feel, however, they lack empathy. Also, you’ve gotta be talking about pathological narcissists who actually have NPD. They aren’t antisocial so I wonder why you think they don’t feel anything, especially because they often care so much what others think and it’s what makes them so miserable. They are highly insecure with wildly fragile egos, and it’s why they wear masks. They hide their vulnerability with entitlement and grandiosity, and most have lots of anger. They may seem limited in their emotions and capacity to love, but they’ve got emotions. They are just cold and callous people who lack empathy. I was born to a parent with NPD, I have a sibling with it, I’ve had boyfriends with it who were really emotionally abusive with lots of inner rage, and good God, I’m so glad I don’t have it!!!

I remember, I was in a horrible marriage and one day after a really bad incident he booked a cruise for us. I told all my friends and family if I don't I don't come back, he threw me overboard. For the life of me, I still don't know why I went to that cruise. It's almost like those bad men put a spell on you and you feel like you can't say no. Thankfully, shortly after that trip I left our house and him and never looked back. I didn't want to live like that. The marriage barely lasted a year and I have been single now for 10years and I am sooo scared of being in another relationship.

I am frightened by your true story. What scares me more is the “blasse” attitude that these reporters exhibit toward this case. Especially the woman. Most of this is guesswork and could easily go wrong. The story and “CANADIAN SHOW,” is real-good entertainment. At the viewer’s review, I am chilled by the responses of how ROBERT FISHER has become a “big toothy smile” response elicited by the vile crimes he committed and the CASUAL FOOLS forcing people to “ENJOY” this horror.

I can't get over how many murder suicides have happened lately. I remember this case. I was a young mom with a family and I couldn't believe someone would do that. It was pretty shocking back then. We both remember it. It kills me when people do this to kids. It's like just leave and divorce. What's wrong with people? When I married we made an agreement if one of us fell out of love and didn't want to be in the marriage to be honest. And we'd split. And thats how we did split. We still do stuff as a family like dinner for bdays together and the kids are adults. My kids say they'd never want us back together, lol but as adults they said they really appreciated we do that. It's not that hard to handle stuff like an adult so people like this have always been off.

Could also be a homeless mountain man looking crazy and way different. Anything is possible. One thing I feel is true, he definitely changed his appearance so gotta keep that in mins when looking for him. He certainly doesn't look the same. Here is my theory. Robert Fisher is actually in the reserve sites area where all the Native American reside. It is possible that many disappearing Native women over the years who are either found dead or vanish entirely are the work of Robert Fisher. Robert Fisher knows the police cannot venture into the reserve site because of the weapons they posses. It is the perfect loop hoop for him to retreat to, and who knows how many criminals have done the same to the Native reserves? Since people are not willing to help “Native American” because we know America has been trying to kill them all off either through cultural brainwashing or genocide. It is no wonder why the police stop the investigation when it comes to Native Americans.

I watched a KZbinr and he showed everyone that you can hide out in the woods and leave no trace this guy is real good. It's been a year since I've watched him but it's real simple.

@@JackFrost-rf6kf you think just bc someones city born they cant be a ridge runner? Some ppl grow up in the city, go up the mts in the summers & winters to either a vacation spot or have family from there. ( i have both) My Pop was a city boy, was a Sgt. in the Army (WW2) he trained in Colorados Mountain Division. He retired up the mts. Avid hunter, survivalist & search + rescuer, he taught all of us grandkids everything. Plus, all of my uncles (Pops sons) are all hunters/woodsman/survivalists. Been all over South America, one even Antarctica. My point is, just looking at me, you would NEVER know that I know what I do, I come off as just a street-smart city kid.

Harlow Jade mermaid you need to watch another interview with a real survivalist I believe his name is Cody and he's from Arizona he claimed there's no way Fisher could of survived in that area. Plus Fisher has never had survivalist training and the internet wasn't like it is today 22 year's later watching u tube on survival training wouldn't make you a pro. I did it with the 82nd airborne when I was only 18 and nearly died and that was in an area that had a lot of resources. Only about 10 percent make it like I did but I still lost about 20 pound's and had to be treated for several illnesses afterwards.

I lived in that area a big part of my life. Payson, Rye, Young…it’s a vast area. I also lived in Show Low for many years. Very eerie to hear about them in this way. But, things happen everywhere. I’ve always thought this creep had a woman waiting for him at a set destination in the woods. They took off together. They’ll find him eventually, maybe like they did John List, when he’s an old man.

Or Dracula; they only found out after he was dead. NO-ONE knew it was Bella Lugosi.
