Mesa demos world's first electric fire truck

The City of Mesa is looking into purchasing the world's first electric fire truck. The truck is currently being used in Dubai, Amsterdam and Berlin.

in Mexico many cities are getting this type of fire trucks (European style) but with a diesel engine, and it has more capability of carry more stuff, weights much less than an American truck and its pretty easy to handle.

The unit shown is Rosenbauer's RTX demonstrator. Since the time of this video, several municipalities have taken delivery of production RTX units.

I think for now fire departments should wait for more development so an electric fire engine can stay on scene for longer. But I think it’s a good add-on for a rescue vehicle already

It's not electric; it is a diesel-electric plug-in series hybrid. The "auxiliary power unit" is the diesel engine and generator. The diesel engine is smaller than the one in a typical diesel-only truck of the same, but it's not small... it is a 3-litre 300 horsepower six-cylinder BMW turbodiesel.

no problem at all, or do you keep electric cars in the garage when it's raining? This truck also has quite a good fording depth; Apart from that also modern diesel powered fire apparatus have all kinds of electric stuff on board
