I can't sing a tune and I don't quite understand why Adon Olam adapts so easily to so many tunes, but I love it! I think the world needs an album (or 2 or 3) of Adon Olam sung to various wide-ranging tunes

Cantor Swartz has unique and recognizable style. Lady cantor is great creative but alot have similar like this Btw, Both r great duet
@gabriellehrman313725 күн бұрын
"Lady cantor" is named Cantor Mira Davis and is deserving of just as much kavod as Cantor Schwartz
@createyourownparadise1825 күн бұрын
@gabriellehrman3137 some people just have too perfect voice without specific characteristics, Cantor Mira Davis, also many Church Chorus have so beautiful perfect voices. But some people has too perfect with specific characteristics like Celine dion, Maria Carey etc and cantor Azi Swartz has this also at Sinai Temple they have Cantor Marcus Fildman & long haired lady Cantor. Some have actually not so perfect but characteristics are strong like Britney Spears, Marilyn Monroe etc

"Lady cantor" is not the appropriate way to address a female cantor. We are in 2024. Please update your language.

Can someone explain the misreh/ rah reference? (I haven’t seen Wicked)
@BramWeiser11 күн бұрын
Hi, Becky. The word is actually supposed to be "misrah", but, like in the song in "Wicked", it's mispronounced a bit at one point by the first singer who then gets corrected by the second one. playing into the theme of one person guiding the other toward their goal (in the Cantors' case, to become a better singer). 🙂 The original song is "Popular", so please look for it to see/hear how the original went. Hope this helps. 🙂
@beckybarhen170011 күн бұрын
@ thanks for your answer. Will look for the song Popular😎

Our music leader uses pop sing melodies for old prayers

Yeah. Keep shul boring!
@zevkramer615427 күн бұрын
I used to agree with you. However, look up some of the most common melodies when davining. They were new once. Look up Chazan Moshe Oysher or any music written by Jabinski (not sure of the spelling) sang frequently by Jan Pierce. You should only ever be saying the name of the Lord in prayer. So they are always either davining or sinning part of the time.
