This a quick clarification about using the antibiotic called azithromycin on a long term basis. Azithromycin taken as one tablet on only three days of the week (i.e. Mon, Wed, Fri) is sometimes recommended to patients who have very many chest infections. The use of azithromycin in this way should only be at your doctor's advice! The effect is more to modulate how your body's immune response reacts to various bacteria than to act as an antibiotic. There is always a small risk of developing bacterial resistance, so this is not something that is recommended to everyone. There is also a potential risk of heart rhythm disturbance in some people, so your doctor will weigh up the risks and potential benefits before starting you on such a treatment.
Please check with your doctor first before starting this treatment!

My doctor here in the PH said no but i tried it it for 2 month and i had no more chest infection. Now its getting hot and i don't need it. Will use it again in June when the rainy season starts. I also switched from Symbicort 160 to Seretide 250. My anxiety and panic attacks are gone and my asthma is now well controlled. No more problems. Can do sports too. Thanks to your videos Dr. Stefan.

Antibiotics should not be used, ever, and because doctors are so quick to prescribe we now have SUPERBUGS. I have very little patience and zero confidence in physicians with Western Training.
